Question on base game main story (SPOILERS)

I play the main base story now for probably the sixth time but only now I realize that there are some aspects that are, uhm, a bit strange.

I freed the prophet (for the sixth time :D) and this was only possible because Lyris took his place in that torture bubble.

Now the prophet wants me to free Lyris who has to work in Cold Harbor.

So how come that she was meant to be stuck in that bubble for eternity as would have been the case for the prophet if he remained there and now she ends up to not be in that bubble but to have to work somewhere in Cold harbour?

it is molag bals realm, after the switch happened he could have relocated lyris whenever he felt like it

    This.

Molag Bal's domain is domination and enslavement. He'd probably prefer to have all the mortals trapped in Coldharbour working but keeps some locked away, likely because they're too much of a threat to him loose. The Prophet clearly knew how to escape Coldharbour and could get others out, if he was free to move around he might have gotten more people out, at least enough to warn Tamriel about what was coming, maybe enough to raise an army to stop it.

Once he realised it was Lyris in that cell instead of the Prophet he probably decided she wasn't worth keeping locked up and would be better off put to work.

Simple. Can't get any work out of the feeble old prophet. Lyris, on the other hand, is quite strong and capable - a good slave.
PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo
