It doesn't glow! It doesn't make loud explosions when mounting! It doesn't trail confetti behind it when riding! It's just a horse!

Thank You!

I was actually going to make a post about this as well, but you beat me to it! XD I love this horse. What I especially love is that it looks like someone referenced a real flaxen chestnut horse to get the tone of the coat and mane color right. Which, as an equestrian, I love. Please give us more horses based on real horse coats!

I also love that the tack on the horse is just -normal- no weird colors, no strange armor. Simple saddle and bridle with removable face armor. (With that being said, I also really like the medieval looking set that was on the double mount in the recent black Friday bundle. I'd love a single-mount version of that on some normal looking horses too. Loved that the flowers were toggleable and I didn't have to use them.)

Also, while on the subject of normal horses I'd love to see more of- I know we have a couple of dapple grays already in game I have every dapple gray I can get my hands on but I'd pay good money for a horse that looks like either of these (spoiler tags so I don't hijack the thread):

Yeah I basically snag every updated-texture horse that comes out now. The egg hunter horse, the daggerfall dapple, and sungold bay thoroughbred are my favorites.

The snow blanket sorrel is also beautiful and I need it to come back. I've always loved appaloosas.

I would also like more of the normal horse color.

I would like to see in just normal saddle and bridle- plain white horse, and plain black horse

I would like a re-do of the colors on the old chunky horse modles onto the thinner horse or the draft horse that we do sometimes see in armors

The Riverhold Chestnut horse is certainly an improvement on some of the awful horses (looking at you 2 mount horse) ZoS has put in the game. Just needs a correction on the hind legs and I'd have paid the real money needed to buy one.
For reference here is what the hind legs should look like, compared with the new Chestnut Horse.

All horses need this. I really hope they fix it some day, but I'm afraid they won't. I'm not sure if development wise it's a quick or easy fix. And I also hope that it doesn't fall under the ''won't change art asset things after release'' thing for some reason.

It's the same horrible horse model with weird legs as always? This is even the skinny horse which makes things more obvious and got badly done mane.

Feeling like quoting this 1000 times till someone in model design notices.

And also, when they redo the model finally, can they make the horses be able to jump a decent horsey distance.

Truth be told, the entire model needs an overhaul badly, not just the legs. The legs are one of it's most glaring issues, but there are so many anatomy issues with the skull, the way the tail connects (which could be corrected by fixing the texture map they keep recoloring...), the neck...I could go on forever, honestly.

The animations themselves could really use an update to look more like the actual gait of a horse. As it currently stands, it isn't terrible, but having worked with horses since I was young, I can see a lot of issues.

I also wish that we had a way to shift through multiple different gaits when mounted- walk, trot, canter, gallop ext. It's not an absolutely necessary thing, but immersion wise I'd really enjoy it. It wouldn't be difficult, especially since multiple different speeds are already built into the game to account for where the player is at in terms of leveling up their riding speed. (I'm told console players can actually shift through gaits using a controller, where as on PC you basically have a choice between walk and run. Would love a way to shift through gaits on PC that doesn't involve a controller.)

In spite of my old complaints about the models themselves, having more natural horse coats appear in game is still a step in the right direction I want to praise the developers for. The models actually look a lot better when colored naturally than they do when weighed down with a bunch of stuff.

How dare anyone be critical of the midnight steed!!

Whenever I'm feeling down, I can always count on him to cheer me up!

N'Cee Cee MDCCI was once the fastest mount in Cyrodiil -- until they nerfed a little known mount feature, tap sprinting which sprinted faster than the normal sprint, but consumed stamina at a faster rate.

They definitely either use the same skeleton, or a similar one. Because the horses run very similar to the dogs. I found this very noticeable on the skinny horse.
