Inkwood Box Lead.

Hi, this Lead(Inkwood Box) by various sources (addon, eso-hub site etc) can be obtained from daily ToT coffers.
When I started hunting for this Lead my question was "is it possible to get it also from coffers for daily wins vs NPCs?". According to youtube and various comments here on ESO forum the answer was a definite YES (both from green and purple coffers).

I bought this first Lead (1/3 codex) from an IA vendor, so my hunt began for the 2/3 codex.
From August until now I've been doing almost every daily quest (3 wins vs NPCs) which is a total of 4 months. Some days I skipped due to work/little time to play etc. but I dare say about 20 days a month I did the daily quest for 3 wins which equals about 80 daily quests total and that's 240 green coffers and 80 purple coffers (and that's not counting the extra purple ones that are now as a bonus due to the event).
I didn't get a single Lead.

My question to the community, has anyone gotten this Lead recently from wins vs NPCs (green/purple coffers)?
I would like to know if this is just really RNG bad luck or if the location from where the Lead can be obtained has changed or if there is a bug?

@ZOS_Kevin
Hi, sorry for tagging you but I'm at the stage where I'm thinking of writing a ticket and before that I'm trying to get a reply rather here on the forum so I don't employ support unnecessarily.
Is this a bug or something about the Lead?

RNG is, as the name, random. Even with a 50% chance at something, you can get 100+ misses in a row before a hit if it's just that bad for you. My only adbice is to keep trying, make it a small part of your daily routine, and don't tire/stress yourself out about it.

This is coming from someone who basically has the codex filled (just need one more IA jewelry station lead). It's not worth burning yourself out on chasing leads, so make farming one or two a part of what you do daily, and set a time limit or daily quest limit for farming sessions that you are comfortable with.

Hope this helps, and best of luck!!

So I'm not in a hurry, etc. I just found it strange that for example all Leads from Galen daily coffers I have found 3/3, from Deadlands coffers I have all 2/3 already, Peninsula coffers there I'm only missing one Lead and I have 3/3, Lead from Blackwood coffer I have 3/3, even Lead from BG coffer I have 3/3, Lead from the Mage guild coffer I had 1x but this Inkwood Box Lead I practically haven't had at all so considering that practically almost all Leads from the coffer I've seen at least 1x I found it strange that in the time I've been doing ToT daily it hasn't been once...

ESO is still a game and there can always be a bug or the devs change for example the location where you can get a Lead (and for example i miss info about the change in the patch notes), so I just want to make sure that this mentioned Lead (Inkwood Box) can still be obtained from ToT daily wins vs NPCs. Yknow..

RNG based leads with no fail safe (I.e. after 50 tries you’re guaranteed it for instance) are just silly and completely disrespect player time and actually ultimately sour the experience entirely that the developers are trying to create (which should be fun)

Yes, I fully agree. I'm not against RNG, but it should have some limits where the player, even with mega bad luck, gets the desired Lead...
As you write, this isn't much fun, quite the opposite.
I don't want everything right away, but there should be a ceiling.
Now, I can practically do NPC ToT daily every day for the next 5 years for example and not have a Lead, yknow... (unless there is some bug etc., which I am trying to get an answer for)

This happened to me on my second Inkwood box lead as well, a year and a half ago. I did about 30 days of the NPC daily on three different characters, no lead, and gave up.

I picked up the 2nd inkwood box from IA when it showed up, filled out the rest, and then picked up the 3rd before the IA vendor swapped that week.

I just bought the first Lead from vendor in IA but unfortunately I didn't have the other Leads to dig up whole Music Box so I couldn't buy another Inkwood Box Lead for 2/3.
Of course now if it would appear again at the IA vendor I would buy for 2/3 and practically also for 3/3 instantly (I have all other Leads for the second digging except this Inkwood Box), but this is a matter of chance what rolls at the vendor so.. :/

But congratulations on your 3/3! :)

    From today’s incremental patch notes:

    Antiquities
Fixed an issue where the Inkwood Box lead was not dropping as intended.

So, it just wasn’t bad RND after all! Time to start those ToT games again! 😇

Players have had an issue with the TOT drops for a while now. The lead doesnt seem like the only thing impacted by a questionable drop rate.

Ngl. Getting the torc leads from IA almost made me quit the game. That was, by far, the worst 37 years of my life... at least it felt like it.

Are you guys (ZOS) kidding me?
So it's been bugged so far or what? Like, [snip]

At least they "fixed" it and hopefully it will drop. (I don't like ToT that much..)

Guys in the replies above, thanks.

I got it yesterday (post patch) from an NPC tribute reward coffer. The ones you get after winning from the NPC players themselves, rather than turning in the daily (I'm sure of this because I was on the second of the three daily NPC games and interrupted them to go scry the lead).
