There's no single aspect in gaming besides weather that draws me in to create immersion. I'd be THRILLED to see a small team devoted to bringing Tamriel's weather to life in interesting and noticeable ways!! I just can't believe how underwhelming and boring rain and especially snow is right now. If performance is an issue let players control intensity on the client side, but because weather is such a huge part of the environment as a whole I would really like to see this addressed and expanded. I can't imagine it would require too many resources to ramp up density and create some more interesting skybox designs, right? The whole rain while sunny thing was fine in 2016, but can we not move past that now?

Tell that to our weather in Alaska. It constantly rains here while sunny in the summer.

One thing I miss from my Skyrim days was the possibility, via mods, to have really heavy and loud rains. In ~10 years, I can count on my hands' fingers how many times I played ESO when there was rain in place and yet, it was just a light drizzle.

I am all for this if the result is less rain.

There are places in Tamriel that are not muddy swamps, but should be due to the near constant rain.

Edit: Oh... and same weather for everyone in the zone. No more raining for me while not raining for everyone else.

    I'm playing a windows 11 computer.

    Specs:
    System SKU Z790 GAMING WIFI7
    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900KF, 3200 Mhz, 24 Core(s), 32 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 32.0 GB
Adapter Description NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER

Edit: And I do understand not everyone has the same system specs and/or plays on the same platform. I'd be happy if it was localized so that while I'm enjoying a heavy snow storm others are seeing only a few flakes. Cosmetic is fine enough for me; it would really help immersion.

I wish it would rain even more than it does (and it does rain quite a bit already).

Yes weather! The rainclouds don't look like clouds at all, but flat shadows that I didn't realize for years were meant to be clouds.

I know weather can be graphic intensive and an unnecessary detail, but I think a new skybox would go a long way, with some extra atmosphere being a dream. That would be like some mist in the distance when it rains, flowers and plants being more open when it's sunny, some bird chirps when it lets up. Don't need to reach the level of unmodded Skyrim SE because it's an MMO, but some weather details from there would be nice.

I've spoke to a few people in game and they too would love to see better weather implementation in ESO; I hope the devs deliver, it would add a lot to the immersion value of this game.

part of the charm of skyrim was the really cold bleak areas. you knew it was properly cold/frozen.
then in the lower areas, it was warm and subtropical

the weather in ESO by comparison is a bit "meh" - i mean its not terrible, but you could really do some good stuff with it

I too would love better weather fx, but your system rubs dirt into a lot of other people's system's eye.

One of the few things I've learned in PC gaming, particle effects and physics are huge strains when high quality. Even though PC Master Racers claim it's last generation consoles holding everyone back, a lot of people play on Laptops and Potato PCs as well. ZOS has make concessions where possible so it's a playable experience for most.
