My thoughts on the new Battlegrounds

Been playing since BETA so I have spent alot of time on this game.

I love that ZOS added new PVP features!!!
However after playing since they launched the new BG's I have to say the old ones were better IMO.

Healers are now just too much both in 4v4 and 8v8.
Why are the old maps removed? Alot of them would be awesome in 8v8.

The new feature makes the game feel more like an arcade game. Maybe I miss some old good stuff when the game overall felt slower, heavier and harder.
Overland, PVP, before proc damage sets. Those days the game felt more skillfull, now it just feels like one buttom spamming game.

The same goes for the old BG's vs the new. Old one, it just felt you had to be more skillfull and tactical in your playing.

The issue with overly strong cross-healing is a general balance problem, not specific to the new battlegrounds. The fact that the new battlegrounds feel simpler is intentional. ZOS mentioned they aimed for a more straightforward gameplay experience compared to the 4v4v4 mode.

Just because it was intentional still doesn't mean it's good. And while cross-healing was always a problem, it doesn't change the fact that the new 2 team BGs are impacted by that problem far more than 4v4v4 ever was.

    Aaaaaaagreeeeeee!

Healing outpeforms damage. 4v4v4 did not have this, as well as many... many, other problems.

Happy Turkey day for those in the states

It was obvious before for a long time, but I'm hoping that the implementation of two sided BGs would show just how much of an adjustment is needed for cross healing.

In some recent post someone pointed out that incoming damage was cut in half but healing remained the same - because we are fighting 1 team instead of 2.

I think that's a great point. I should find that post. What do you think @Parasaurolophus ?

Would agree on old maps point also, some of them seem to fit perfectly in the new paradigm and their removal was unnecessary rather than having a rework for a spawn point. Some probably would fit better than couple new ones where you're literally straight in your enemy's face.

I personally believe that the 4v4 maps have no place in 8v8. Any time a 4v4 map shows up in 8v8, it's always ends up being a mess

8v8 is a problem because it turns into a case of both teams running bomb builds and they just keep wiping each other out over and over. Bomb builds are fine in Cyrodiil, but in an 8v8 with so much constant action they are broken.

Good points from all of you!

I would love to try the old maps ONLY with 4v4/8v8. That way it would be easy to see the benefits/drawbacks of the new maps.

OR the other way around, just try the new maps with 4v4v4 ONLY.
The graphic designs of alot of the new maps is awesome! But the feel or flow of the combat just isnt there

Couldn't agree more. The new maps are aesthetically very nice. My favorites are the larger city maps. I feel like zos really captured the essence of bgs with these. I would love to see 3 team format in them and 2 team in the old. I mean, why not? More variety is probably good.

Right? The city maps are my new favourites. I love the fight in the small alleys.
