Bug with NB ability swallow soul

I think theres a Bug with NB ability swallow Soul. When you Hit a shielded enemy you dont get the heal.

Back in June when this was discussed in the PvP forum, it was mentioned that Ring of the Pale Order works the same way: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/661292/swallow-soul-and-shields

If all leeching skills work like this, it might not be a bug. I haven’t tested them myself, though.

Working as intended. It heals off of damage done, and you aren't damaging an enemy's health hitting a shield.

... and healing you for 35% of the damage inflicted. doesnt say anything about dmg health!

This would definitely qualify as a bug.

Wonder if Reaving Blows and the Script on some of the Scribings like Smash function that way as well.

And Reaving Blows doesn’t specify it doesn’t return health based on damage done by procs. Unfortunately tooltips are often incomplete or missing critical information.

It would be good to get an official comment on whether damage done to shields is meant to be returned as health or not.
