Although there have been a number game aspects or balance changes that any individual player may not agree with and although there have growing pains as ESO has developed to become a resounding success, I'd like to share a thank you to development for their continued work and game vision.
I don't like that Stonefist has a channel as much as the next Dragonknight. And I sure do wish that my wings "still worked." That said, I can too look at where the game is now versus where it was during a difficult start.
There is regular content now. Even if you think that there is less content now than a year or two ago, you may not remember the timeline for the game after Northern Craglorn was released. There have been massive content improvements since then.
It used to be that the only thing we had to do every day, for a while, was pushing AA, pushing Hel-Ra, wiping in Sanctum, and doing the same old Undaunted dailies every day. Woo, some of those Veteran dungeons used to be quite difficult too. Remember Keep Imiril, anyone?
Let's look at where the Undaunted daily events are today. Now key drops are way more generous, gear is easier to target, and there is a better range of dungeons as to make sure that all players, regardless of skill level have access to daily content.
The biggest reason that I made this post is due to today's release of the Golden Pursuits. Some may not remember what the game used to be like. Like locusts, we consumed all content extremly quickly and then there was "nothing to do." Via the endeavor system and now Golden Pursuits, there is always somehting to do. And that's not all.
Through the antiquity system, there is always now a reason to revist old zones and do random tasks. It was a pain point for players to never see others in the old zones. There are also plenty of daily quests to work on and those systems continue to be expanded upon. PVP has several daily quests with cool and exclusive rewards; the new battlegrounds, Imperial City, and good old Cyrodiil all contribute to that. Additional PVE content includes the additions to Infinite Archive. Even as someone who doesn't particularly find the gameplay within the Archive that fun and would like additional things to spend fortunes on, wow, it has some cool rewards for those who play it every day.
And that's where I'll end off. Development has embraces that rewarding players is what they should be doing. Look at all of the systems that make loot more accessible such as the currated drops or Transmuting items. Look at how generous development has been with all kinds of achievement linked rewards, the great daily login rewards, endeavors, and now Golden Pursuits.
It's easy to see things that are still being worked on as pain points, but take a moment to look at everything that exists now which is extremley player friendly.
Thank you.
Don't tank
"In future content we will probably adjust this model somewhat (The BOP model). It's definitely nice to be able to find a cool item that you don't need and trade it to someone who can't wait to get their hands on it." - Wrobel
