Is it lag or is it Charmed? Charming lag?

Is a CC of this type good for the game? Charmed is often indistinguishable from game lag. Half the time it may be that you've been cc'd, half the time it may be poor game performance. Do I break free or do it wait for the lag to stop? If there are more than 5 players in one place it's a 50/50 chance of either as far as I can see.

    Yes, warden's class mastery script is terrible especially in combination with Binding Contingency. And no, I'm not asking to nerf these scripts, I would just like some visual and sound changes.
    1. Warden's class mastery script, or to be precise the moment when you get charmed, should be accompanied by a sound and a clear visual effect. Now you just start moving chaotically in different directions, and it is not always clear whether it is a lag or you actually got charmed.
    2. Binding Contingency (Immobilize Focus Script) also does not have any visual effect on an attacked character. Make clear visual effects on a target like Dark Talons, Bombard, Shattering Spines, etc. By the way, there are also skills that do not have a visual effect of immobilization on the target, for example Abyssal Impact, and perhaps others that I don’t know about.
    Together with Dragon Leap and Rush of Agony, all these skills create long chains of unbreakable control, which is not fun.

    I don't want to see it nerfed, I want to see it gone. Since that is unlikely to happen, a visual cue would be very helpful. We need to actually be able to break free from it as well. As it is now, it takes several attemtps to be able to break free. The animation seems to get stuck in a cycle, kind of like when a guard chain pulls you over a 5 second time period. The animation has to finish and get to the end of whatever visual it's doing before the break free actually happens. During this time you will be hit by anything and everything including more charmed.

    I use this ability in Warden for PvP and find this CC very powerful.
    I think it would be better to visualize and add sound as mentioned within this thread. Weakening it may be unavoidable.

    I'm torn on it even existing, honestly. On one hand, I really like when they have stuff that adds flavor and something truly different to the game - but on the other, the old Fear was changed because of issues now present with Charm (ie, running inside walls) so it seems silly it was added back to a different class?

    On the third hand (because I have three, it's fine!) I really hate being hit with it, so any further commentary will be entirely biased. :D

    Maybe a squirrel should be clinging to face of the Warden's opponent's, blinding them with its furry tail and biting the nose? I'd probably run in dumb circles too, if that happened.

    I had been fighting against this a bit until I tried it out for myself on my warden after having gotten the class script.

    Holy cow is it powerful. Immobilize, 70% snare, and charm all in one. It’s unavoidable when fighting against it. Best class script by a mile, and if we include this then warden is S tier, even without using acuity. This plus northern storm and spin to win and vamp slash just deletes people and has so much multi kill potential just based off of this cc being a little overtuned.

    Needs to be telegraphed better, and possibly a longer cooldown, that’s all.

    I've had this skill just break my character. I'd get charmed and I just bug out and stand still without being able to break free with a full bar of stam and unable to move in any direction. All I can do is watch my toon die which is the only thing that'll break you out of it.

    It's also really annoying when you're charmed and you run in the same direction as you were already going and you don't realize you're being charmed right away since you think you're still moving.

    I remember them removing a similar effect from nightblade fear because it forcefully moved you're character and was considered too strong, just for them to slap it on their new p2w scribing system. Someone might be able to find the patch notes and dev comment for their reasoning on nerfing fear.

    Like others have said this and rush of agony just create chains of being yo yoed around for extended periods without any control of your character. No wonder there are fewer people in pvp these days. But don't worry they're "keeping an eye on it".

    It's just really weird and not healthy for the game imo. It's like you're in the middle of a fight and then, ooh, look ar those pretty trees over there, I think I'll walk in that direction for three seconds to get a better view. To make matters worse theres not real visual queue, but even if there was a visual queue it's just bad. Like, why is this a thing in this game.

    Edit: to add, I'm a Warden main and I can't use this aged cheddar cheese. It's just too broken and not really fair.

    This happened to me the last time I played. I'm always on the lookout for Charmed every time there is a warden around, and it still got me. I just kept walking, in what felt like a normal way, but I wasn't attacking anymore.

    This skill coupled with the unbreakable CC bug is often then end of a fight.
