[BG] 2-team format means the Deathmatch vs Objective debate is mostly over

In the 3-team format, most players either preferred deathmatch or objectives. Those who didn't like objectives could treat every game as a deathmatch, putting the objective players at a disadvantage. The combination of small team size and 2 enemy teams contributed towards this problem.

In the 2-team format, you can treat every game as a deathmatch while still helping with objectives. In 4v4, the maps are so small that you're mostly deathmatching anyways, even if it's Domination or Crazy King. In 8v8, the maps are small enough that you can easily fight on or near the objectives. Since there's no 3rd team, any enemy killed reduces the other team's ability to win the objectives.

So I think this is a win for the new 2-team battlegrounds.

100% agree. For the first time since battlegrounds got implemented I find myself actually playing a bit more for the objective because there is actual incentives to fight/engage the enemy team and contest those objectives.

Avoiding other players (as most objective players did in the 4v4v4 format) should not be the best tactic in any PvP environment (or at least not the tactic that gets rewarded the most).

    Yes, that true,

The problem for 4v4v4, it leave too much room to play as opportunist, such as ganker NB, stealth entire time, instant kill in distance and retreat, also some sorc, totally ignore objective

Those opportunist mostly get good kill count, and more and more player choices that build and such play style, the huge number of NB and sorc in BG pre U44 is reflect that trending

100% agree. Every match is a deathmatch now, in an enjoyable way for everyone. So long as people aren’t going out of their way to not do objective, it’s so much better for everyone.

2-sided objective modes have been a lot of fun, the deathmatchers still help the team.

Two teams is a resounding success. As a deathmatch enjoyer from the 4v4v4 format, I am actually participating in the objectives this time because the format actually incentivizes me to do them.

That doesn't excuse the delivery of this patch though. This has been the worst beta experience I've ever had. Far, far from anything that might qualify as a full content patch, like this one was marketed as.

You need to actually be interacting with the objective in many of the modes to get results unless it's a total mismatch when it comes to the teams.

I've won matches where my team was getting absolutely slaughtered because the enemy team wasn't playing the objectives at all.

I've lost matches where my team was dominating the other team because nobody but me was playing the objectives.

People will literally walk past the Chaos Ball if it's a Transformation Ult they don't want.
