8 v 8 Solo. But the maps on all of them are horrible. Just can't do anything as good as WOW. But nice try ZOS.

I dislike Crazy King and any other game mode that encourages teammates to scamper around the map, leaving you to die.

The Chaosball transformation makes you lose your healing skills and the damage is generally lower. So there's a tradeoff that helps balance the game mode. It also gives weaker players an opportunity to score points because they may bring a sub-par build into the BG but when they transform, they contribute more.

The 4v4v4 modes have serious problems that I think most players already forgot about.

Some of the 8v8 maps feel very tight. Almost claustrophobic. Having a few maps that are more open would be good.

    4v4v4 Deathmatch: No problems

4v4v4 Chaosball: Snare ball holder and fix the cheese spots with the maps. Problem solved.

4v4v4 Capture the Relic: Standing around guarding a relic is boring. Pointlessly parsing a tank who is guarding a relic is boring. Having your relic stolen through the wall, or because the grabbing animation didnt play correctly is boring. Having to retrieve your relic is fun. Having to protect your teammate, who is holding a relic, is fun. Why don't we cut through the boredom and jump to the fun part right from the get go? What if a player from each team was randomly selected as the ''relic holder''? The goal of the match would be to kill the other team's relic holder while protecting your own. When the relic holder dies ''the light'' jumps to another player of the team after 30 seconds, the new relic holder. I wonder if there is some kind of problem with this format that I'm not seeing. It would, in a way, be similar to the current 8v8 chaosball. Problem solved.

4v4v4 Land Grab modes: I can think of a few solutions, but at the end of the day we'd have to see how each one would play out. Any suggestions?

4v4v4 Deathmatch: The two dominant teams don't kill each other and instead race to kill the weakest player(s) on the third team. This mode has many block tanks that contribute nothing and end up making the teams lopsided. There are too many 19k health Nightblades that die in 1 second and feed. When you have these players on a 4-player team, it greatly impacts the team. 8-player teams can absorb these types of players much better.

4v4v4 Chaosball: The max move speed ball carrier is the biggest issue.

4v4v4 Capture the Relic: Too many issues to list but I think you covered many of them.

4v4v4 Land Grab: Too many capture points in the second half of the game. Should be 2 or 3 max. These modes don't work well on larger maps like Istirus Outpost where you spend most of your time running around.

All current modes better than old ones.

Solo 4 x 4 is my favorite, especially Crazy King or Domination.

The issue I hit with the transformation version was that players actively avoid picking them up especially with the Vampire Lord version. It's rather frustrating to die in the process of killing the ball carrier and then watch your teammates ignore the ball even when the fight is over. Carrying the Chaos Ball with the Transformation can be a bit annoying as you'll get ignored a fair bit of the time or killed and have the Ball left on the ground because the person that kills you doesn't actually want it.

I'll have to admit I'm a bit of a fan of the scampering modes because it tends to vary the fight size a bit more and it can make it so that some of the less combat effective players can still generate value to the team.

That is assuming it is an actually balanced BG. Especially the 4v4s are often not balanced, but if you get balanced teams in 4v4 DMs its probably the most fun I ever had in BGs.

I generally think that the 4v4 and 8v8 are much better than the 3 way modes because they encourage actually fighting the other team instead of avoiding combat and just going for objectives.

Also my main issue with the 4v4 and 8v8 Domination atm is that they usually end very fast, especially the 4v4 Domination games often dont even last 5 minutes.
