How do learn to play ToT? Resolved

Personally, I feel Tales of tribute card game should be a stand alone game and not be implemented into eso. I never liked playing card games and if I did happen to enjoy those type of games then I'd just download one of the many card games online out there.
I'm a bit of a completionist so i feel compelled to learn this card game ToT and even try to win but I did not find the ingame tutorial helpful at all. I'm a total noob at card games. Please help me learn this game.
I did watch a guide online but it was too complicated. I feel stupid when it comes to playing ToT ,really does hurt my brain. The ToT games also take so long ....I don't have a life long enough to try to master ToT.

The in-game tutorial explains the basic mechanics, but not the strategy. If the YouTube videos don't do it for you, what I'd try is:

Because you can always pick 2 patrons each match, focus on learning 2 patrons that you can win with. Whichever 2 patrons "make sense" to you. (If you want shorter games, like 10-12 minutes, pick patrons where you can gain some power or prestige each turn.)

Even though you'll have to mix strategies for most matches based on the patrons and tavern luck you get, you can still learn the ways each patron can help you win.

For example, winning with Hlaalu cards means converting your purchased cards into prestige each turn, or having a lot of gold in the midgame to buy powerful cards from other patrons.
    • Hlaalu supports other decks by giving you lots of gold to buy winning cards, and a way to "purge" unneeded cards.
Pelin cards give you a lot of raw power, but no help in buying them or drawing them, which other patrons can help with. You potentially only need to play a 5-power Pelin card 8 times to win!
    • Pelin works well with decks that have draw and/or early gold.
Crow cards don't do much unless you have enough of them, or a way to draw more (such as with Psijic), and you get more reward for playing the "draw" cards in the right order.
    • Crow works well with decks that give you gold or draw power, or with big, powerful cards to draw.
Psijic cards are like "support" cards, with some power, some gold, and mainly a way to draw better cards (for example, drawing your Pelin or Crow cards).
    • Psijic works great with any "draw" card, because you can scry using a "draw" card to pick which card you draw. But since it doesn't have enough power to win on its own, it enhances decks that have win power.

    One general strategy is:
    1. Early game: Increase your gold/turn (say, first 2-6 turns mainly)
    2. Mid game: Buy cards that will generate prestige or power in the future
    3. Late game/closing: Start converting cards you don't need with Hlaalu, set up combos with Psijic, consider only buying cards that are better than what you have (so they don't water your deck down. Sometimes buying more is worse), etc. (I'd say end-game starts once you hit 20 prestige or so, when the race to 40 begins)

At least, that's how I play. Some players seem to try and get powerful cards early and win with steady power and prestige each turn, whereas I tend to "burst" by starting off behind, building a good deck, and winding up ahead. Hard to turn down a great card on turn one or two, but I hold off unless it's a pretty good one.

Otherwise, I learned by watching my opponent and thinking "which were the cards that helped them win the most?" or "which cards did they pick that were duds?" and that got me thinking about strategy.

And yes, for the ToT expert forum analysts, it's much more complicated than this! Just hoping to provide a simple way to get started.
