What is the point of this Wall and Column at Seabloom Villa?

There is a wall and column on the top patio area of Seabloom Villa that looks very out of place and serves no purpose. I would love to be able to remove it because I feel it would improve the look of this area greatly if it was gone.

I don't know that anything can be done about it now, but it would be great if we could remove more structural pieces, especially when they serve no purpose.

Probably just there to annoy you :)

Most likely they just tested what would look the best and forgot to remove it as it doesnt seem to even fit the style of the existing railing.

I placed a bush over it to try to make it less noticeable, but there are other problems with this house.

There is a big gap under the outside stairs that we can see the bottom of some structure through that I covered with a large rock.

I really love this house but hope they look at and fix these things. Although the biggest problem is letting things like this slip through in the first place. There are similar issues with Merrivine Estate.

I posted this before, but I wish the fireplaces were movable. And I wish the ladder had been a spiral staircase graphic. But I did figure out a way to make it look a bit more natural by putting a bookcase behind it so it looks like the ladder is for the bookcase.

You said it in jest but I reckon that's a viable theory.

This is a super cheap "starter" house meant to tease and tantalise into buying bigger, better and most importantly, massively more expensive.

Such imperfections potentially serve those ends.

The same may be true of the various imperfections in free with the expansion Hall of the Lunar Champion.

Count the steps on each portal dais in the entry room. One is one short.

One of the windows on the house is in the wrong place - different on in and outside.

While not technically an error, the asymmetries in the middle area make it a challenge to decorate.

Also in the not-an-error department, the skanky wooden fence around the house really drags down the tone.

But I've become adept at making problems like these go away.

This is raid level (furnishing, not game) design. Every success is like saving over a hundred dollars of real world money.

I disliked that too, but I covered them with a bookcase so that they are still accessible for a quick teleport to the second floor. And now I'm actually happy that the first and second floors are separate spaces so I can sink items on the second floor and add chandeliers on the first one without them showing on the other floor.

If something’s too big, it will actually sink from the second floor and show on the first floor ceiling. There is a large space between the two rooms, but they are over each other and things will show through if they are too long.

I tried and you are right. Only half of a Kothringi canoe height can be sunk into the floor before it starts showing in the room downstairs. I think it's enough for most projects though, and we would not have that much space between the floors if we had actual stairs inside.

I used the Solitude floors too for the ceiling on both levels and the floor on the upper level. (The wooden side showing) I used High Isle tile floors for the lower level flooring because I wanted a different look for the main area.

I placed the solitude floors so the floorboards were going the other direction and hid those edges just inside the walls. The I moved the platforms together just far enough until the edges were no longer showing.

I liked the ceiling up a bit higher but lowered it down enough to cover the trap door.

(Edit: I brightened the picture so the ceiling floorboards would show up better.)

Placing them in the opposite direction did not work for me. They are too narrow, and the borders were visible. But I found another type of furnishing to cover the seams.

    @ESO_player123 That looks really nice!

So you used 4 platforms for the ceiling? I used 2 but then I had a small gap over the bookcase, so I turned a Colovian column sideways to lay flat and placed it over the gap so it looks like part of the framing for the bookcase.

I love seeing how others deal with decorating issues like making ceilings fit, etc.. There are so many ways that the same pieces can be used.

I covered the seams by just scooting one platform over to the other until the seam went under and no longer showed. I made sure they were both at the same height and turned so the boards were meeting up against each other lengthwise.

That's why no seams are showing on my ceiling in the screenshot I posted about it above.

@SilverBride Are the platforms in the same direction? Because if they are, they both have the gray borders on the sides that touch. So, if I'm hiding it on one side, the other is still showing. I'm not in the game right now, so I'm just trying to remember how I was placing them.

It worked. I did not notice that the border is actually lower than the wooden surface. So, when overlapped and at the same level, it stays hidden. Thanks for the advice. I decided to keep the seams covered though (as in my last pic) since I like how it looks.
