Garbage Monthly Login

Honestly, this month is garbage for a majority of players. There is nothing of value, no big ticket item, no "Ooooh I gotta remember to log in to get THAT thing!", just a very boring, very useless month of junk items. I get you're constantly trying to attract new players, and make the game as easy and fast for them as possible; but at the same time you're "punishing" the veteran players who have no use for things like research scrolls and mount training. It seems like you're actively trying to push the hardcore dedicated players away in favor of pulling in new people when you do things like this. With pointless monthly login rewards and whoever in their "right" mind thought scrapping zone story DLC was a good idea, it doesn't come as a surprise why the playerbase is constantly shrinking. You need to listen to players who speak up and complain about your game, instead of editing/silencing them and accuse them of "bashing". You are slowly killing ESO. We have been warning you of that for a long time. Please, turn the game around and just fix it. Do better. Please. The game is in a very poor state, and has been for a long time. I really don't want to see this game die a horrible premature death.

inb4 this post gets edited for bashing...

Nothing wrong with the daily rewards. I don't think that ZOS can continue to be super generous every single month as they'd soon run out of content to give us ;)

We are still getting 300 seals which is very welcome indeed (for when they finally bring back Sunken Trove Crates!) :)

Nobody is asking them to be super generous or hand content out? Just to not fill an entire month with items that a majority of people have no use for anymore. The seals are literally the only thing of value (at the end of the 3rd week), but even then, are we supposed to bow down and thank Zos for that? 300 is only a fraction of what is needed for a crown crate mount. lol

Some folk might appreciate those research scrolls and those 'ugly' body and face tats.

Perhaps you can inform ZOS ahead of time, exactly what items you would like for your daily rewards. You could give them a break down of what you want on each day for the next six months and list them in order of preference. :p

Also seals of endeavor seem to have become a staple new daily reward this year. Which I am very much grateful for. I don't remember them being around in previous years so if anything daily rewards overall have vastly improved imho.

I am sure you will be stoked when the Golden Pursuits come out and you can get even more garbage for free. ;)

That's a nice little tidbit of advice, but sadly, it's unwarranted and also incorrect. Zos counts anything that mildly critiques them as bashing, regardless of how nicely you can word it. I know, it's happened to me. That's why I say what I truly feel without worry of being edited, because they most likely will do it anyways. Zos can't handle criticisms. It's obvious. So, yes. This month is garbage.

Yeah, but, 300 seals is nothing. A radiant apex mount is 16k. There are months where we get more than just 300, and also not junk books and scrolls.

I guess I have mixed feelings here - I mean it's free stuff and I hate to complain about it. Normally I wouldn't, as I'm used to the rewards being like this some months. Not every month is going to be a home run.

But, on the other hand, they touted this as a "year long anniversary celebration" - and indeed it started off strong, with some of the best login rewards in years and monthly "spotlights" with cool rewards and special endeavors encouraging players to revisit some old content.

It feels like it's fading fast right as we're getting into the holiday season, and I don't really get it. Hope they finish the year and the anniversary strong.

*EDIT: Also I just realized they seem to have not included crown tri-pots, the one recurring consumable that lots of folks actually do use. Weird decision.

i have been playing ESO a long time. i still find some of the stuff in daily rewards valuable.

300 endeavors for spending less than a minute in game is reasonable. fun note, you get 15 endeavors just for claiming a daily reward today. low effort rewards for low effort actions is always reasonable.

but to address your last point. How exactly is free stuff ripping you off? how is it taking advantage of you? is ZOS extorting money from you? or misleading you in some way? By definition they can't be ripping you off if you get something for just logging in, and the can't force you to login, neither can the force you to accept or keep the items. If you dont need or want them then trash em, or dont accept them. Its not like that mechanic isn't already part of the game.

Free is free, doesn't matter what it is it doesn't have to be offered. IF it were a paid battle pass mechanism where ZOS charged IRL $$, Crowns, or ESO+ membership to participate THEN i could agree with your argument that items are not of value, and that they should be of higher quality. However, that is NOT the case here.

Do i want better monthly rewards? sure! who doesn't? but there is no guarantee of that, and sometimes ZOS wants to give new players the stuff they want or need. But there is no obligation to do so, and calling it "garbage" isn't a helpful way to get more free stuff.

I agree it's not an exciting month, but I disagree that's a problem. It's not the first and I doubt it'll be the last where there's nothing I really want, but all that means is I won't go out of my way to log in just for the rewards, I'll only start the game up on days when I want to play and won't worry about what I miss as a result.

Which is actually good for me because I can't play every day, especially at this time of the year there's too much else going on, so trying to log in almost every day is a pain.

I play ESO for playing ESO, not for login rewards that came only years after the game launched.
This month has enough new (and with that golden endeavors coming free) stuff to keep me motivated to login. Login stuff? If I don't like it, I delete it. No problem.

I was already planning on holding off playing this month as much after I saw that Mirrormoor crates don't drop until next month.

I'm hardly playing at all anymore, my husband has stopped playing Cyrodiil since PC Greymoor server has been mostly uneven populations at all times of day which promotes account switchers and PvDoor, players paying for Emperor swapping, etc.

We're not losing out on anything. Glad new players are getting the items they need. 😇

I definitely would have preferred tripots over the refreshing drinks, but I'm ok with whatever free rewards we get. Most of this will just end up getting cleared out of my inventory and then I'll be on my way.

I will say though that we're getting a lot of new character stuff (riding lessons, research scrolls) lately. Couple that with the new tutorial, and it really seems like we're all being encouraged to make a new character. I would... if only we had a new class coming soon... Until then, it'll stay in my bank until I can finally use them all.

November is also a holiday month in the USA, lots of people are away for Thanksgiving, seeing family and friends.

I'm in the UK and not expecting to be away much, but November is usually very busy for me too, it sometimes seems like people try to fit a whole load of things which would normally happen in December into November instead to avoid Christmas.

And there were months when we didn't get any free Seals of Endeavor, so giving us any at all is an improvement over the way it used to be.

As for how much a radiant apex mount costs, I've got enough Seals of Endeavor saved up to buy a radiant apex mount plus a number of less-expensive mounts and non-combat pets. It doesn't take that long to save up, just do 3/3 daily endeavors every day and 1/1 weekly endeavors every week. Shoot, I've even missed 1, 2, or 3 endeavors on several days, and even missed the weekly endeavor once or twice.

I'm a collector, nothing is garbage to me. As grandfather said "One persons garbage is another persons treasure". I'm sure he mixed that up as he spouts wise sayings like an interminable fountain of knowledge.

From the monthly login rewards i now have a real nice collection of mount upgrades, exp scrolls, yummy turkey drumsticks (Crown Fortifying Meals), Instant Research scrolls, Soul Gems, etc all ready and waiting for me to create a new alt, what's not to like?

I admit to letting some login reward items stack and delete whole stacks of what is imo unnecessary but I never skip the daily login reward if I can help it.
