I really want to use her but her three dislikes are worrisome for me. Reading lore books, harvesting nirnroot and my favorite looting psijic portals.
Anything else with her I'm sure I am missing?

Yes the dislikes list is... Strong with them. I know numbers wise it's just -1 or maybe -5 but I just dislike the idea, the remarks and such, more than the actual lost number.

I wish Tanlorin knew how to use her assigned skills. I set her up with a lightening staff for ranged DPS and all she does is light attacks with an occasional heavy.

The numbers work fine for me. She'll lose a point here and there and gain a point here and there through my normal activities, probably tending toward the plus side. The mammoth in the room is doing a FG dolmen daily with some regularity for the giant +125 bonus.

More importantly though is, so far, her rapport loss comments are gentle and entertaining, not preachy and insulting (Bastion, I'm lookin' at you!) so very easy to take.

So you lose 1 point for those activities, but you can gain 125 for a fighter's guild daily and 125 for doing an alchemy writ. She is one of the easiest companions to max rapport.

to clarify, its only reading mages guild books, not all lorebooks

I just spent a few hours picking flowers in coldharbour and jumping into IA and popping a mystery verse or two and killing the first cycle boss every 5 mins inbetween. Maxed rapport super fast that way.

It's just a few points of Rapport that you lose. If it were like -50 or -100, then the players should be voicing their concerns.

Haven't tested it fully, but Tanlorin lost rapport just by walking near the Bangkorai mages guild. Was nowhere near the door. Bastian, who gains rapport from entering mages guilds, requires you to go right up to the door. Seems a bit unfair to put different ranges on them, unless either Bastian's range has increased, or the Bangkorai guild hall works differently to others.

Today Tanlorin did not like when I stole an item. And I may have missed it but I didn't see any rapport earned from the alchemy writ either. Rapport is definitely not maxed out yet.

They specifically dislike stealing items that fall into Dolls and Children's Toys categories.

Don’t think the Mages Guild is worth having such a strong negative reaction towards it. Unless you just don’t like books or reading or research

I was able to max Rapport in two days on both Companions, and while I was focused, I wasn't busting my tail to do it either. Their dislikes are negligible.

You can pickpocket them.

Thanks for confirming. So there's always a risk when pickpocketing.

That's a good question. From my experience, it's more about a week each.

For Zerith, I did one Elsweyr Defense Forces and one ToT quest each day, played 3 to 5 matches of ToT daily, but getting to the last companion quest still took me 5 days, and another 2 days to get to max rapport (last companion quest triggers earlier). Just reached that today. So, one week in total.

Now I still have to level him to 20 (he's at 7 now, from running around in the Archive each evening) and find a beggar somehow (tried it today, travelled to over 30 locations where they may spawn, but no luck so far).

Two days to max rapport seems like a pipe dream. I got both companions on the first day, and while Tanlorin is already maxxed, Zerith is still about a week away because I refuse to play ToT.

Console player here, got both companions on Wednesday evening after maintenance. I have prog runs Wednesday, Thursday, Friday evenings so didn't have loads of time and I still got enough rapport to complete all their quests on Saturday. Still not at full rapport yet though.

My character has all the skyshards collected - She is my main after all, so that was one thing I was unable to do to increase rapport. Seemed a bit unfair - same with using intimidate during a quest (I've completed all the quests too).

I'm glad the loss isn't too great for her entering the Mage's Guild. Would be a lot longer getting her rapport up if it was a big lone.
