Weapon Packs are getting more and more dissapointing

I just saw the Maarselok style, and yeah, would be a nice style for my Necro, except she already uses the Dead Water staff with the Earth Bone Armor.....
And then, I noticed it's not even a full set... no dagger or mace.... nor ANY axe type at all.......

Why are we still getting charged full price for half sets?

I think we REALLY just need these to be made into slots like the skill styling, and then we can add them to any weapon..... we can already sort of do it with glyphs, as in a fire glyph on a weapon is a totally different effect from frost or lightning, so the basis is already there.

It’s not really more disappointing, Maarselok is an old returning arms pack. I wish we had a shield scaling slider though, the shield is too small.

Most things in the crown store and in-game are re-skins and repeat items from past years.

What's more disappointing is how we are unable to earn the cool DUNGEON BASED weapon packs and we have to buy them. They'd be such a fantastic award for achievements in dungeons, but nope :)

Also side note, definitely agree - every weapon should be present and the fascination with small shields is bewildering, because i haven't met anyone that legitimately enjoys the small shields :D

Maarselok like nearly all arms packs with special effects just have a style for each weapon for each type so Staff, Shield, Bow, One Handed, and Two Handed.
Dungeon arms packs and Crown crate weapons are always like that.

it's not half a set as you're able to use the style to replace each equipped weapon.
If they had styles for every single weapon they'd likely be more expensive which i really don't want, 2500/2000 is already enough for the arms packs.

Arms packs without effects like for event styles such as Crowborne Hunter or Ebonsteel Knight have every single weapon.

It's been like this for the majority of the game's life so this isn't news and i doubt it'll change.

Well, just because something is a certain way, doesn't mean it's not open for criticism and player wanting something different ya know?

It's been a certain way for a while and that's not a good thing, which is the point of the post. Why the small shields? Why not use every weapon? Why not let us EARN dungeon weapon packs from DUNGEONS rather than swiping a credit card? That would be much better in every way and some communication would be fantastic about it, especially after 10 years. This is the kinda stuff the game has been sorely missing for quite some time.

    Personally, I like small shields.

Mostly because I'm not the biggest fan of shields anyway, so the less of it the better... But also because large shields tend to clip a lot and look kind of terrible anyway.

Even more so when considering as an adventurer, carrying around anything larger than a buckler would be a massive pain (Let alone carrying it in a way where you could actually grab it in a reasonable amount of time... Centre grip buckler would be much easier to grab than all the strapped shields the game uses) or the fact that shields are mostly actually redundant in the game because everything simply hits the glyphic shield you project when blocking (Irregardless of weapon set)

Meanwhile, shields are still the primary tool for tanking (Notably because of better taunt, more mitigation, stam on heavy attack) so as mainly tank player I'm stuck using Shields a lot so have to deal with all the ugly shield nonsense.

Give me single one handed weapon skill line capable of tanking equally well, or an invisible/glyphic shield and then I wouldn't care at all how many giant, chonker shields get produced.

i didn't say it's not open for criticism, i just doubt it'll change and if it were to change i believe if it would cause the arms packs to cost more.
I'm not zos, i give my thoughts and opinions just like you.

earning them through dungeons would be awesome!
At least we can earn the crown crate weapons with endeavours.

i like the small shields so im glad some arms packs have them and some packs do have bigger shields for if you want that.

IMO a game this expensive shouldn't be selling stuff like this in the crown store.

That said, the options available from earnable in-game styles are excellent. I've think I've only bought one weapon pack - the very old ice-themed one for my wardens.

But the issue is kind of moot because of the insane cost of costume slots.

ESO offers incredible fashion, but most MMOs give you more than 2 costume slots. For most games except some free-to-plays, the cost to buy additional ones is much, much lower than $15 each, and those are account wide, not character specific.

I did see character slots go on sale recently, but 10 years in and the devs constantly swinging the nerfbat at classes and races I previously loved, am I willing to lay down that kind of money on a bet that I would continue to love the chosen character for very long?

    No. No I am not.

I've never understood the fascination with arms packs, and that people buy them regularly astonishes me. And they just keep coming out....

The unique effects and glowing are nice aesthetically. I only have a few though. I prefer them over seeing my enchantments because my enchants may not really be on theme.
