Why are golden pursuits not constantly present?

Two parts to this question here:

1) Did the devs discuss this point? Why are they coming in here and there and not just rotating through every couple weeks for instance? Seems like a much better organized system than seals of endeavor in my opinion, but a huge miss in that they're not constantly present to work towards - especially given how sparse of a reward structure the game has.

2) Did they discuss ever not including re-skins and previous crown store purchases as the "big rewards?" Like implementing unique mounts, costumes, etc.?

Thanks :)

I guess they would not want a Golden Pursuit active during an ongoing Event, but it's just my guess, no official statement.
A: "We, as humans, should respect and take care of each other like in a Co-op, not a PvP 🌸"
B: "Too many words. Words bad. Won't read. ⚔️"

A couple of things to consider.

Writs, daily quests, Daily Rewards, and Endeavors are already there every day. Do we really need another every day thing?

By keeping them an "event" rather than an every day thing, it will take longer to burn out on it.

It is named "Golden Pursuits" rather than a more boring name. It will serve to bring players on short hiatus into the game to work on the special limited time "capstone" reward. I would guess this works best when it is not always running, and it will take more than one event to get that capstone reward.

If I had to venture a guess, I'd say it's intended to be used as a tool for future events. Remove the RNG grind that everybody screams bloody murder about during every event, and instead use Golden Pursuits to provide an avenue at a guaranteed reward upon completion. Theming the mission objectives around the event.

The name kind of reminds me of "the Golden" vendor who shows up every weekend in Cyrodiil, so it seems appropriate that these new "Golden Pursuits" won't be available on a 24/7 basis the way Endeavors are.

I dunno. When I first heard it, I thought of a casino and expected it to be Crown Crates 2.0. First impressions had nothing to do with the Golden vendor.

Will they be announced, or be like “drop everything you’re doing I’m here [snip]!”? (Well, maybe not phrased exactly like this 🤭) And what about the duration?
Sorry I’m a bit off topic here.

I think finally getting some sort of tangible reward outside of what we have is what we need - there is an overwhelming amount of inflation in the game largely because of writs. daily rewards are cool - sure. But "MMO-esque rewards" like mounts, skins, pets, costumes, cosmetics, etc. that have been largely locked behind the store are only really present in very high-end achievements, events and the crown store. Seals of endeavor, while free, were only enacted to align with Microsoft's company policy to allow players to earn loot crate drops in-game. While legally this is true, practically, we all know the chase items for most take an egregiously long time.

Golden pursuits is one of the first additions to the game that I've seen since launch that gives you real tangible rewards on a timeline a majority of players can coincide with if that makes sense. Being an MMO player myself, I love having goals to work towards like this capstone reward, and was just curious if it was just another FOMO tactic or what (which is what it largely seems like).

Also, as far as i know, it takes several pursuits, but the capstone reward can be achieved in 1 event every time, at least if they stick with how it was tested on PTS.

I believe they last for about 2 weeks at a time. I'm assuming here - but, because they are not around all the time, i'd assume they'll be announced.

Thanks! That’s great, that’s long enough to not having to drop everything to do them.
