[REQUEST] Allow placement of the "dead" model of mounts in our homes

The model depicting a mount as dead exists in game.

For certain housing build ideas it would help to have it shown as dead.

So I request to be able to place exactly this model in my home. It could still take up the slot it would normally.

Considering that we can produce really bad and cruel scenes with torture tools, skelletons, "fresh" bone body parts" etc. I don't see an issue here.

Just implement an option to depict it as dead and if there are several models for the state of dead a possibility to select one.

EDIT: Removed the link to companions as feedback was that this could be a tad too much for some players.

So I read the title of your thread and my mind immediately went.... somewhere dark.

Yes, you're right about some of the furnishings being quite horrific. None of those are to my tastes but they exist.

Yes, violence and death are common and core in many computer games, including this one.

But there's still a line between what most people would regard as decent and not and I think most would agree that this idea is on the wrong side of that line, regardless of what you personally would do with it.

In the game, all of the companions are alive. Death for them (and players) isn't permanent. Being able to place their dead bodies as furnishings necessarily implies harming them grievously for personal pleasure or benefit.

So being able to place charred and screaming corpses of „nobodies“ is ok but a knocked out bastian is way out of line?

I get what you are saying. It is a valid point

Actually to put it straight, I was more thinking about dead mounts and just expanded it to companions, as I don't see much difference with other dead stuff we can place inside our homes.

But I understand that this may appear to some different and will modify my request to limit it to mounts.

EDIT: Although one could still assume that the "dead" model of a companion is just "mimicing" by that companion to realize the theatrical scene I removed the link to companions in the original post following your feedback. While I was really thinking about placing dead mounts (that you see all the time in game as much as dead people and skeletons everywhere in the open world) and just expanded it to companions I did not think about the phantasy some decorators might display giving them the opportunity to place a dead companion into their home.

As I said, none of these furnishings appeal to me and I don't use them.

As I said, violence is a big part of most game design.

The line isn't necessarily completely consistent or logical, but it exists, is clear, and ZO as a business has many reasons to stay on the right side of it.

    I'm glad.

Yes, dead is dead. I think pretty much all of the Bosmer homes have prominent leather and bone pieces. And I didn't presume the worst of you in making this suggestion.

But the devs have to consider many angles some players might not, including every angle any player might.

I think this could come with posing. Mounts do have a pose from when you die, where they're on their side. Should also be able to have them do their spacebar animation and maybe even pause them in place. This way, you could make them into statues, mount them on the wall, have them be dead, have them be sleeping, etc.

To be fair, the zombie horse probably has the same effect :) It even has flies buzzing around.

Please leave it to the devs to decide what is their line and what is not.

I am quite certain that their marketing section has excellent statistics with respect to their customer base and about what their customers like and don't like and they know how to sell their product.
