Question for ZOS about Battlegrounds

Been talking with one of your members of the Stream Team (won't say who) they didn't know about any MMR system for Battlegrounds, to try and confirm this and give them sources I searched on the forums, old Morrowind Chapter patch notes... Everywhere but other than players talking about it as a sure thing I didn't find any official answers, can we get an answer about this? Is there a system like that or similar that actually matches us with players of similar skill? @ZOS_Kevin

Yes, every playlist will have MMR now.

It was supposed to be just the 4v4 competitive playlist, but they decided to add it to 8v8 aswell in a later week this cycle.

A better question you should ask is; how are the queue times going to be now that 8v8 is dependent on MMR for matchmaking?

I imagine queue times are going to be horrendous already with the sheer amount of queues there will be now, MMR or not.

Lol, wonder how people are going to feel about sitting in 20 minute long queues and getting one of those "if you die you just spectate the rest of the match" modes.

Your MMR is derived from a combination of wins/losses and the rank of the opponents you've played against.

Given the length of queues already, I'm pretty sure MMR is irrelevant. If there's not enough people waiting at your level for a queue, and they happen to match you with another group of higher level in which you just get killed every 20 seconds... at least that gets 12 people a "completed battleground". Even if it wasn't a very satisfying one, it's better than waiting in the queue.
