This is the final patch week of PTS.
  1. ZoS butchered Focused Charge by adding a taunt to the base skill and both morphs. This has made it effectively unusable in PvE for DD's.
  2. ZoS butchered Pyrebrand with a ginormous nerf outright killing the set. Nothing has been addressed, yet ZoS has said the feedback has been heard.
  3. ZoS butchered Azureblight. No longer works in PvP - a Major buff to ball groups. PvP has lost one of the marginally few ways of dealing with this cancer. Azureblight has been buffed for PvE over the revisions of this PTS, but the internal cooldown change still puts this set in a bad spot.
  4. ZoS ages ago killed blastbones changing the morph to something incomplete. Even after saying it's "not finished" - there has been nothing on GLS. They've literally released an unfinished ability lol.
  5. ZoS nerfed Maelstrom 2hr's. Templar Jabs, Flurry & morphs, Runecarvers Blaze etc. have lost a lot of damage. This nerf was done under the guise of it not being used to make 2-handed abilities stronger. ZoS has done nothing to remedy the damage lost on these abilities and item set that's put them in a much weaker state than before. Build diversity is being murdered, out of 200+ item sets, the margin of usable sets in end-game is shockingly small, and gets smaller each patch with unwarranted and over the top nerfs.

Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

And they killing Ghostly Ebrace too, skill that barely saw any spotlight this patch going straigh back to oblivion, with its cc removed.

I guess cc is useless in dummy parsing - the only tests this class goes through during dev cycles.

Guaranteed 9 months with an unfinished skill that replaced the best damage ability of the worst performing class, it's frustrating being a Necro main even when there's a good change we have to take a hit somewhere.

RIP Ghostly Embrace you were unused for 5 years, got 3 months to see the world, and will now be thrown back into your hole for probably another 5 years. At least the Necro players will stop asking for a sticky DoT now! :D

The changes made during this PTS cycle shows what they value and prioritize. At least they made the solo que for the new Battlegrounds that might give it a decent boost for long term population.

I've almost completely stopped playing necromancer after maining it for years. I actually just play magicka sorcerer now, there's literally no point in necro anymore if you want to pvp, other than maybe roleplaying, but it's bad even at that. Even in pve it's frustrating, blastbones and the skeletal minion don't count towards pale order heals, nor proc any set in the game. It's just so neglected, several bugged abilities and inconsistences. Grave Lord's sacrifice isn't finished, and even says "stalking blastbones" still when it spawns. It's really sad. :|

Also blastbones, skeletal minion, and spirit mender still don't count towards battlegrounds score/medals, so have fun trying to get on the top leaderboards on this class.

Necro pets can steal your kills also, if it gets the killing blow, your name isn't broadcasted in the kill feed.

Yay, we have to play around this inconsistent skeletal hand patch minigame to get the DoT damage from the ability since only the second patch applies it. Compare this to dragonknight burning talons and it's laughable :#

    Regarding Pyrebrand:

On rally cry + pyrebrand build tooltip is 15600 dmg over 6s.

After nerf it will be 12500 dmg over 6s. I believe pyrebrand ticks 3 times, so 4100 per tick. When you constantly LA it ticks every LA which means 4100 DMG/S. Proof: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6A5cKSZpcb4 - you can see at 3:03 that pyrebrand had 155 ticks 158 LA.

Lets compare it to for example burning embers - with same build my tooltip is 30 000 / 24s = 1250 DMG/S.

Now please answer me, how 4100 DPS is bad compared to average dot skill which is 1250 dps? From my calculations it's 330% stronger, and it is currently probably strongest dot in the game (+ it's fire dmg which comes in handy in PvP).

[snip], pyrebrand is getting nerf from S++ to S+ tier.

AB is also a huge loss for PvE. Predictably, U44 update will result in many medium-tier groups no longer being able to complete content such as DSRHM, LCHM, and the like. They'll need to rework their gear and strategy completely.

"how 4100 DPS is bad compared to average dot skill which is 1250 dps?"

Because it's an item set that takes up 5 pieces of gear? The nerf was heavy-handed.

Relequen does butt load of damage every 1 second, and each light attack re-procs the damage. The set can do 9-12k DPS on live, so I guess Relequen is an s++ set, and should receive a nerf then?

The focused charge change is just so hilariously bad, it doesn't even help templar tanks since they'll still be expected to run stuff like puncture and inner beast to provide useful debuffs for the group instead of charge for a selfish buff. (not to mention that the tank blitzing around like a toddler on a sugar rush, dragging everything away from damage dealers and healers, is unwanted)

A big part of templar tank's problem is that the class doesn't do anything other than be a mediocre wall of meat for the mobs to beat on, and all tanks provide that; adding maim to the shield helps a little, but templar still brings next to zero important buffs, debuffs or utilities to a group. A bunch of pve debuffs are even un-cleanseable to keep the purify synergy from being too vital or prevent it from breaking encounters, and that's one of the few unique reasons to WANT a templar.

I've been playing this game since launch but I haven't really paid much attention to it until the past couple years in terms of patch notes. Has ZoS ever nerfed or buffed things to prepare players for new content such as new skills, classes, sets, Trials, etc?

"Incoming new Trial that requires the tank to zip back and forth to taunt multiple enemies or it's a group wipe."

You know; BS like that. Truthfully, out of all the classes right now and there skills, the one thing I've heard for so long without looking at the patch notes is how broken Blastbones because it doesn't work properly. And that's just me hearing that as a casual player running overland content.

I'm just wondering if there's a "business reason" as to why things haven't changed? This is one of those games where I feel like the outperforming stuff is so apparent. And more so than any other time. Sure, I get the whole flavor of the month, or quarter(whatever). I see a lot of MMORPGs do that especially after releasing new content like a major expansion.

Is it about time ESO gets a new class next Chapter or is it some new skill line? And didn't ZoS move a lot of resources to a new game?

PTS isn't for feedback anymore, you know this! My working theory is that it is ONLY to preview new content (sellable) through streamers/content creators (generate hype/desire to buy, without further questions, on launch) and to fix MAJOR bugs (only the ones that are 'easy' to fix in the cycle).

Everything else is LESS THAN supplementary. :)

I hope this helps in any capacity OP!

You're right. No one except ZOS has ideas that are worth listening to (so no one). I'm glad we disregard them (ZOS) not accepting feedback from ANYONE in ANY CAPACITY and instead say: 'well, you're feedback just wasn't good enough, *tsk, tsk'- lol

Like the general idea and consensus within a thread has no bearing on ability to examine an issue...

I can suggest a solution to a problem or give a glob-awful one... that doesn't make the 'problem' any less of a problem.

Yeah if they wanted a clear division between the cc and damage for the morphs they could've made it less a game of chance (cumulative) or increase the damage if they wanted it to be a risk while making Empowering Grasp a targeted cc that boosts your minions for 10 seconds after it was cast maybe using the new IA ghost hand animation. Instead we have a unreliable damage skill and unreliable cc skill two duds for the price of one! When they were combined you at least had enough utility to justify the risk of the skill making it worth it to slot for some builds.

If they listened to feedback and made the entire area apply the DoT like Talons and Poison spray I would have at least tried to make it work, but it just isn't worth it now. Just another Necro class skill being worse than scribing/generic skill line alternatives.

No, PTS hasn't been about 'feedback' for YEARS... it's now solely about players being free QA testers, helping them find bugs.

Not even that, I reported a bug with werewolf animations breaking after selecting a verse/vision in Infinite Archive during the pts before it even released almost a year ago, and it's still bugged currently, despite reporting it every single pts cycle since then.

Not in PvP where removing crits isn't a problem on pressure builds that run Malacath or just don't invest in crit. It'll remain a good option for PvP pressure DK, competitive with other pressure proc sets.

Tell that to all the Necro bugs that get reported every PTS cycle only to go unfixed.

GLS is still labeled Stalking Blastbones btw.

fun fact , all the endgame players I know ,know that this top gear is bound to be nerfed, and they farm it just to break some world record before it gets nerfed...(and this last 2 weeks they are trying to get it back as+2 >:)

As far as I know, from all class sets, pyrebrand is the strongest, even after nerf.
Corpseburster is the strongest IA class set right now. Pretty much the only one that is viable.

Pyrebrand isn't used in vas really, the top scores are all using half templars half arcanists.

Idk if pyre can beat 4xRadiant Oppression.
