Will skills ever get a visual update?

I think they could all use a facelift but especially the skills of the original classes. As a Sorcerer main it’s like night and day when I play on my Arcanist alt. Now not all skills need to be as flashy as the Arcanist’s (and certainly not neon green, lol) but the vast majority of the original class skills aside from the Templar (which probably needed it least of all) have never received any visual updates. I was hoping that spell scribing would help fill the void but the visuals for most of them have been really lackluster as well. I really can’t fathom why we haven’t gotten any updates unless it’s some kind of technical issue or artificial limitations for fear over potential performance issue, in which case people who struggle with that could simple opt out of them.

I genuinely have no idea what happened? Did people complain? I personally had no problem with the changes. Anyway, my point still stands that every new DLC brings in lots of cool new visuals both in terms of the world itself and also items and armor, yet spells continue to be left behind. The lightning that I can produce with mementos or emotes looks x10 better than any of the lightning skills on my Sorcerer and that’s a travesty.

If anything, visually I would alter the Necromancer's "Graveyard" ability. Swap out the tombstones for grasping ghostly hands or something. Just not literal tombstones.

If any changes were to make skills flashier then please no. I hate cartoony effects.

    Least needed of all, Templar?

Nightblade hands down looks the best out of all of the classes in the game, and that should be the standard all of which are held to, even Arcanist.

Completely agree, it’s way too on the nose and also jarring from an immersion standpoint because where the hell do the tombstones come from and go to after the skill’s duration ends? Are we supposed to suspend disbelief to the point where literally all of Tamriel is one giant graveyard and Necromancers can pull tombstones out of every inch of ground?

Improving skill visuals does not mean making them flashier or cartoonish. Just look at all the destruction staff basic and heavy attacks as well as its skill line abilities and tell me they can’t all use a VFX upgrade.

I agree, they could make lightning so much cooler, given the effects they've been using in the west weald incursions. And sounds better than the most pathetic sparkler.

Please don't remind me... my mains have been templar and nightblade since beta. Great idea to change two of the iconic skills and make them as bland as they are today.

Those changes indeed do not inspire an overhaul for other abilities, sure particles are good for polar but half-ass decision about the "spear" is a big indicator for lack of care, and bloodthirst is.. it's just bad, sloppy and insanely bad job compiling already existing animations into one "new". Both could be updated decently but not with current approach of cutting corners and making a lunch break amount of time animations into the product wielding millions of dollars to the company.
