Homemaker CP Slottable?

The wording is a bit ambiguous "whenever you find a furnishing plan in the world".

Does this apply to plans dropped by mobs when you kill them, or only from looting containers?

I don't believe ZOS intended this to be so vague, but I don't farm containers for plans, and have never had it fire on looted plans from corpses.

Can someone confirm my suspicion? If so, I'm gonna use my slottable for something else.

Cheers,
Romilly

You have a 10% chance to find a second furnishing plan whenever you find a furnishing plan in the world.
    It's a 10% chance, not 100%.

S/he wasn't addressing the percent chance; the question was about whether the percent chance from the CP slottable applies only to plans looted from containers, or also to plans dropped by mobs when killed.

I don't know the answer myself. I don't remember ever getting a plan from a mob I've killed.

I don't see the word "whenever" as being ambiguous. It means that if you whenever you get one, you have a 10% chance of getting another at that time.

I've had this fire more from kills than containers. That's because most containers I find are pre-looted.

I have it slotted and I've gotten 2 plans from drops a few times.
But I don't know if it's really worth it over using riding speed in that slot.

I get more plans from shopping at the guild traders

I've looted 20+ plans in the last day or more of corpuses (corpi?), bodies..., anyway, yes, I know it says 10%, I'm just feeling like that guy in Rozencrantz and Guildenstein are Dead...

Yeah, there's only a 12% chance I wouldn't have seen it after 20 plans... so maybe my stats intuition is just off.
    (0.9 ^ 20 = 0.12)

Thanks for helping me think this through :D

Containers such as urns and backpacks are instanced to the player, so they won't be pre-looted. Chests and nodes are not.

I see it fire on all loot sources, but containers more often.

If you are on PC the Jack of All Trades addon will auto-swap your green stars as needed. Super handy.

Does it still have the 30 second delay?

Corpus is a neuter third declension word, not a masculine second declension one, so the plural is corpora, not corpi.

But in English that word most often refers to metaphorical bodies, like bodies of works by particular authors (writers, composers, artists, etc.). The use of corpus in English as a reference to a physical structure is very technical.

Corpse (and its plural corpses) is the more typical way of referring to a dead body.

Yes. No add-on can get around that restriction. And since ZOS says the cooldown was put in place to preserve server performance, letting add-ons get around it would really defeat the purpose.

Yes, the 30s delay is part of the game code and no addon can override it.

Just closing the loop, not that there really was one, after a couple more hours of grinding, I indeed got two furnishing plans from a corpse (wth was I thinking, corpus?!!, must have been my search engine brain...), not once but twice. One set was green (both Orc) and one set was blue (both Wood Elf). Sadly I already had all 4 plans, but hey! Science! Statistics!!
