Which playstyle in Cyro do you play the most?

I want to find out if maybe the expectations towards Cyrodiil are different depending on the play style you are used to enjoy. It doesn't matter if you think that might be a first step towards a "fix", or if you think its just a mess in general, in any case you are welcome to choose your preferred (main) playstyle, and from there write where you think the problems are for that sort of playing the game. Please keep your writing short. I will later try to cluster the answers, and well, eventually we get some hints of possible solutions. :-D

Honestly not sure which answer fits best.

I don’t go to Cyrodiil regularly (daily), but I do go semi-regularly (usually every few days).

When I do go, it’s generally to do resource capture missions. (It used to be to do town dailies, but I don’t do those as often as I used to.)

If my alliance has enough players on and they’re going after campaign objectives, I’ll join in as long as I’ve got time to spend in Cyrodiil.

However, I’m not very good at PvP, although I’m not afraid to get killed and am happy to jump into a certain-death scenario if I’m trying to help.

But if there aren’t enough players on my side and playing the campaign objectives seems too hopeless, I stick to resource missions.

    Zerg (just AP)
At this point, I'm just after AP for Transmutes when I'm in Cyrodiil.

I originally tried to focus on doing things for my faction but, the environmental story in Cyrodiil doesn't paint your faction in a positive light and the people that talk in faction chat tend to quickly become irritating which utterly kills the motivation to try to win.

Further, the campaign is so long that your presence has very little impact in many cases unless you play a ton or at an impactful time.

I started playing ESO with some real life friends. Cyrodiil was entertaining and fun, but performance issues and bugs made everyone rage quit and delete the game.

For a while i kept playing on my own, expecting the game to be fixed soon. I joined all kinds of groups, in zone chat and pvp guilds. Most guildleaders and guildmates stopped playing the game because performance issues and bugs were getting worse. The change from 24 to 12 player groups made looking for a group in zone chat a lot harder.

I tried running groups myself, played way too much, got emp a couple of times, joined the forum and got banned instantly for expressing my frustration, rage quit and deleted the game, came back to see if anything changed, quit playing again, tried again after a while, got another forum account banned, quit and tried again countless times ever since. Cyrodiil keeps getting emptier and more boring every time. My "breaks" are getting longer and the community keeps shrinking.

For me it's not about meta builds, ganker, sniper, bomber, tank, heal, support, small scale, ball group, zerg, organized, unorganized, serious, just for fun, campaign, night capping, ap farming, social, solo, quest, fish, siege, trolls, zone chat drama etc. I was able to experience/enjoy all of these things.

But everything i try in this game ends with disconnects, lags, freezes, bugs or other technical issues.

For years i tried to find the problem on my side and blamed my network, my console, my own lack of know how, etc. because a billion dollar company wouldn't leave a game like ESO in a broken state like this, right? They would fix this in a heartbeat, right?

I don't really care about who is to blame anymore. I just know that most players i played with quit ESO because of performance issues and bugs. They would like to play but just can't. I wish someone could find a solution already, but I guess it would be too late now anyway, so I don't really expect anything anymore.

ok, thank you for all the votes and statements so far. the idea now is that you also state from the perspective of your play style the current flaws of Cyrodiil. Let's see if we then can come up with suggestions.

So I just start it as someone playing usually the campaign which often is a pain in my view. But, hey, I know, its just my point of view, so feel free to state your regards.
    • Ballgroups are very strong, I have no problem with that if they play the campaign, but I don't like the usual running-in-circles-on-top-of-castles or just erring around with scrolls, which doesn't create a very epic feel about campaign, in my regard.
I somehow hope the new BG's where they could fight each other in a honest fight would help to fix that, but I have my doubts.
I think Cyro scoring should reward campaign play more.
    • Smallscalers fight for a resource, do they? That would be great. In fact they hide (and, again, run in circles) on a tower originally designed to protect a resource. It was even worse when the towers had doors, I know, but hey, can't we come up with something more epic?

My point as campaigner would also be that without campaign players, the Cyro design would fail, and ballgroups and Smallscallers would find hardly anything for their deathcount. Their playstyle is like second order play because it needs those ("first order") campaigners trying to do some effort, or if you want to put it more strongly: they are leeching on the concept. Scoring should not reward that.

As being said, this is just my point of view. Now happy to hear yours!

Towers are a last resort in an unwinnable scenario for me, I'll run around if it'll get the zerg to quit chasing me, but if they're persistent and stacking heals on each other I'll bail from the tower to kite, certain rock formations are even better than towers for losing a zerg (and then turning to burn the few clowns who chased too far).

Ultimately I try to get on objectives that mess with the enemy, flip outposts and towns, troll siege keeps, and do it on the side that helps the faction map players. You get a surprising amount of Good Fights (TM) doing this, but like most smallscalers I also just zerg surf quite a bit. Being zerged down alone on some remote corner of the map gets old.
