events are boring

2 boring events in a row, the event of the undaunted and the event in honor of the chapter. Why make such events? Why not just give tickets immediately after entering the character. What the first and the second event is just doing the same as without the event, namely completing daily tasks, ALL. NO motivation to enter this event, entered, took the tickets, left the game. Honestly in recent times, the event is extremely boring, and this is not to mention the event in honor of the 10th anniversary of the game, which in general terrible came out. Why can not come up with something interesting? Or maybe do not make 2 events in a row, or revise the event and finalize them, add interesting temporary rewards, and that would be interesting except for doing daily tasks. That the event would be for the year 3-4 maybe even less and without any event in honor of the chapter, event in 2x drops, etc. At this rate, we will soon have every month events and motivation to play in a game where every event with 2x drop will simply disappear at all.

I'd like events to be perceived as “Wow! A good event came out, got so many exclusive rewards that you won't get until the next such event, got so many fun emotions” rather than “another tedious stone-faced farming of daily quests with no emotion every day for something expensive out of boxes that lasts 2 weeks and after which the teso economy will continue to drop”.

But I think it is necessary to change not only the events but also the content in the game itself, because people leave the game for a reason (which is happening now).

I've already collected most of overland zone set gear.

So, personally I want extra rare outfit style page and motif or gold material
    as daily event reward.
    My playing time Mon-Friday UTC13:00-16:00 [PC-NA] CP over2000 now.
    I have [1Tough tank] [1StamSorc-DD] [1Necro-DD] [1Real Healer]

But, I'm Tank main player. Recently I'm doing Healer.

I always thought events and Dallies were a lame and cheap way to provide content in a MMO....

I love events but I do agree they have gotten very... dull... after 10 years. I wish the seasonal events were different. Like you literally have a year between the holiday related events. Up until recently they were the exact same quests every single year.

You're telling me you cant hire an intern an as a summer project let them prototype out a holiday event?

This has always been my top gripe with these events... they are the same every year.

On a positive note - the decorations are a nice change to overland. It's small but... still appreciated none the less.
Will the real LadyGP please stand up.

I'm fine with events, but they really should have generated at least 3 versions of each event by now, to rotate them to a different alternate version every year.

Yes, they've gotten quite stale, and just about the only players that find them exciting (with exceptions), are mostly newbies to the game while other may have missed a year or missed filling out a piece or two in preceding years.
The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.

I'm tired of events. There are so many that they don't feel special or fun any more. And they rarely have anything I want to spend tickets for.

The worst part is they take time away from other things I'd rather be doing, like catching up on quests, or running group content, or decorating. So I rarely take part in any of them any more.

I’m enjoying the event, and am actually glad that it mostly involves just doing the zone’s delve, WB, and incursion dailies, since that means I can do those activities and then go do whatever I normally do in the game.

I do wish I were getting more of the new style pages in the event reward coffers, although I am also fine with the likelihood of not getting all of them by event’s end. The crafting motif pages are more significant to me, since I very rarely if ever use the Outfit system.

And if I decide that I want to grind for event coffers to increase my chances of completing my collection of the new outfit style pages, I can get them by simply running around the zone harvesting resource nodes. :)

I like the events. I've played a lot of MMOs that require you to grind events something rotten. ESO has events that are so easy to ignore. Event ticket rewards are there if you want them, but again, so easy to skip. You get a chance at Christmas to grab anything you missed. Now they're rotating through older years to grab older rewards.

I guess I like how much of a non event the events actually are.

I'm fine with big and meaningful events like New Life (although they should add new quests to them every now and then - I know they've started doing that within the last few years, after things had been completely static for a long time), but some I wouldn't even call real events, but just luring players into certain activities by offering them event writs.

Don't get me wrong, I know it's just fair not to make only questing-focused events, but give PvPers and people who prefer group dungeons a way to earn writs as well, but I question the whole writ system altogether by now. Indeed it makes events turn into a grind instead of a celebration. I'd rather decide for myself when I'd like to play which type of content, instead of "having to" at a set date just because I want a collectible I need the writs for.

I'd rather see lore-based events stand by their own, as something players who like the festive spirit can partake in without any pressure (no grind, no FOMO, etc). Lore-wise, there's a big calendar of festivities:
    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Holidays
ESO could also make use of these by adding small regional quests every now and then, build upon the lore a bit, put a few decorations at some places, just that, no need for writs or rare rewards.

The events (holidays) are good concepts poorly executed. ZOS needs to mix up the quests and reinvent the event each time it arrives, rather than simply doling out new style pages no one cares about other than to keep stickerbook full.

i love the events and doubt it'll change.
11 events per year is awesome (to me) and we even get some mini events which are fun to me.

i like that every year there's nearly always the same kind of events that we can expect.

January, a celebration event. returning dlc event or like next year the Pan Tamriel Celebration.
    February, Mayhem.
    March, Jester's Festival.
    April, Jubilee.
    May, usually nothing.
June, Zeal of Zenithar since 2022.
    July, Mayhem.
    August, nothing since 2022.
    September, new chapter event.
    and Undaunted celebration since 2022.
    October, Witches Festival.
November, returning dlc event from 2 years before since 2022.
    December, New Life Festival.

and we don't have to participate if we don't want to.
If we do want tickets for event items, we only need to spend a few minutes or just 1 minute to get tickets.

Witches Festival this year adds some kinda event exclusive dungeon with Hollowjack, that's new and more than just killing a boss monster for your daily tickets.

Would be fun to see more things added to existing events, i like the recently added decorations.
More quests could be fun. Maybe event exclusive dungeon/encounters for other events like Jester's Festival too.

I was always burnt out from rl holiday events and could never understand why anyone would want to have them in the games I play to escape them.

But like in rl, I've been forced to accept the mainstream person absolutely freaking loves holiday events and scratch cards gift boxes and that's just the way it's going to be from now on.

After ESO's failed launch, ZOS hosted a press event in which they described how they were going to turn the game around. Their main point of emphasis was creating an "endless reward cycle" which sounds like a good thing, but is actually very bad for us and why things are the way they are in this operant conditioning chamber game that constantly bombards players with rewards and "achievements".

I have very little interest in events these days, they're old, repetitive, and too numerous with nothing in the way of rewards worth spending my time on.

The "straw that broke the camel's back" with events for me was the introduction of AwA which took away any benefit in running events with fresh characters each time they came round.

I did the first couple days of dailies for the current Gold Road event then realized I didn't care enough.

I used to look forward to events, but event burnout is real and when it's events like these that are based around a zone it feels like there's pretty much no engagement with the event itself outside of doing a single 5 minute daily for tickets, killing the same WBs or Delves every single day is monotonous and dull. it's the same formula every time.

I'd rather be in dungeons or doing quests, and in events like the Witches Festival or Anniversary you still can be rewarded by doing these activities with more XP and coffers.

Agreed sort of. When I started playing in 2018, the first event I was aware of was the Halloween event.

I didn't participate because I came from the old school mud game mode, and I thought it was actual people making the event.

    It wasn't.

All events are just doing the same thing over and over. At best interesting for one day.

I would love for events to be more interesting, but I am not sure how that would work.

I don’t think I would want the events changed personally. I just want to get my tickets and be done with it. Then I can do something else.

Generally I don’t care for any of the things we get from tickets, unless there is a house involved like this year.

MMOs have to run events like theaters have to put on plays and opera houses have to put on operas and halls have to put on shows and the jazz club has bands and the ballet.... does ballets.

But here's the thing- they do different ones every year.

There might always be an Easter ballet, or the summer opera season, or an autumn play, or a Christmas show. But they're DIFFERENT every year

The dull events tend to be the ones that funnel you into a particular zone or handful of quests. I'm never excited for New Life, it's so repetitive. Witches Festival, on the other hand, is fun. You can do pretty much whatever you want and get rewarded for it.

Still, these zone-exclusive ones are handy to mop up some achievements and clear some more annoying content.

Well this event, I wouldn't say fun. I usually like farming, it's relaxing for me. But WW is not a great place for it. There aren't very many nodes and most of them have some sort of trash around them. Having to deal with the trash every 30 seconds makes the farming more of a chore. And everywhere I go there seems to be something in the way, a wall, a boulder, a root, water, and buildings I can't even enter. It's just hard to wander and just farm.

But I have gotten a lot of furnishing plans and styles/motifs from the containers. And all the double drops have really filled up my crafting needs. I'm averaging 3-4 kuta a day for example. This is good, very good.

They have to do something to keep people logging in when there's no new content. Having said that, the current event made it pretty easy to get tickets, and it did liven up the zone. I prefer events that are thematic, like the Witches or Jesters Festival, especially since they started doing the decorations, they are much more frivolous and fun.
