Treasure map leads

Hold on to those treasure maps. An event is coming in Jan/Feb ( my guess) called the Pan-Tamriel Celebration. Here are the patch notes on the PTS v10.2.2

Treasure hunters, during this event any chests you dig up using Treasure Maps will roll again on all of their existing loot, greatly improving your chance to get leads, furnishings, etc. that are exclusive to that source.

It would be a lot easier to "hold on" to those maps if they stacked ;)

Yep. I wish treasure maps would stack like surveys. There is no reason why they shouldn't. It would be a great quality of life change :)

Thanks for the info! I was just getting ready to start on the 100s of maps I've got squirreled away around the house...

I wouldn't be surprised if this only applies to new maps that are generated during the event.

Yes - seems like I remember a precedent at some point during the year (sorry, memory isn't all that great for events etc).

Oh I hope not. It is too hard to get the maps you want when you need them.

I think you are thinking of the master writs that got some kind of bonus to them in an event @TaSheen .

I would be surprised if it only worked on maps generated during the event but then I have been surprised before. I guess we will see.

Does this kind of event, where the odds of getting Leads from Treasure Maps are raised, happen at some regular intervals (like once a year?) or is it purely random when ZOS just says "let's have an event now"?

Events happen at fairly regular intervals but an increased chance of getting leads and furniture from treasure chest maps has never happened before.

Yes, perhaps. That was maybe the last ZoZ event?

That sounds about right. That or the Anniversary event. It was one of those where it used to reward crafters with good stuff but is now a “go kill something instead” event.

Yeah. Why I'm done with ZoZ now. Last Jubilee I got some good stuff, but no telling about the upcoming one....

If that happens I will 100% delete this game and move on for good. I have several hundred West Weald maps stashed away after my experience of hitting a personal best of 48 consecutive maps dug up before getting a lead. The RNG and excessive grind that ZoS is so bent on pushing is making the game less and less fun.

Oh, is this the first time this bonus will be here?
Well I'm glad for it and I hope ZOS will continue to do similar things (better chances for Leads drop) in future events.

I'm in a bit of a similar boat.
I'm working on Apocryphal Well, I have a 4/9 codex and my last Lead was over 160 Treasure Maps ago...
Actually, last week I was already thinking of quitting ESO, I don't mind RNG but specially with Treasure Maps it definitely shouldn't be this crazy.
Then I heard about the planned event for early 2025 and better chances for Leads from Treasure Maps so I decided to give it a try, I'm putting all the maps on hold and if I can't complete the codex during the evet I'm done with ESO..
    So we'll see...

same here - just want to unlock the Ayleid Antiquities for a Housing build, willing to buy what i need for a lot of gold from Achievement Vendor - no prob.

Its just depressing to do several maps every day in your routine and get literally nothing. Even with a semi Harcore playstyle speding Millions for TMs, you are not getting closer to having all those WW furnishings unlocked.

my last hope is this event

Ty @OP for pointing out this part of the patch notes - It came just right in time to prevent my rage quit. I shared this in my housing guild discord too.

Good question. I have no idea if it will drop double loot. I guess we will have to wait and see.

I've played less than 10-15 minutes per day since the West Weald event. It's just long enough to load my traders as I liquidate anything not needed on my account, and do the endeavors. If the Pan Tamriel event pans out and isn't a clown show, then I'll re-evaluate at that time. If it is a clown show then it's pretty much the straw that will break the camels back and I'll finish liquidating and mothballing my account.
