It's been a wonderful 10 years of ESO! Some highs and some lows. I have a suggestion/idea I wish I would have thought of sooner. Could we look to incorporate a universal search system in Tamriel? The map is expanding. When I can't find an item I want or the price I wish or with selling as well, it's almost an exploration of its own. Jumping through load screens to match a price to sell or find something cheaper, couldn't we have the ability to search it up?

Probably not unless it would make you happy to have the servers implode. They're cutting back on things to "make them more performant". A global search would definitely not fit that definition.

ZOS has played the "for performance reason" card so many times now that people think modern day servers are not capable of basic search. It's 2024.

was it 2024 when the game was being developed?

The problem is that would mess up their precious guild traders which is a cancer in itself. I don’t really care who you are because there is so many guild traders that are in the market even if something is priced good. Chances are 9/10 you will never see it. Those guilds literally buy EVERYTHING that is decently priced to sale it for 10x the price. Given the TTC doesn’t help at all and I know a few people who do this for a living flipping items in game to make the most gold possible to trade for real money. The guild trader was a unique system that was designed for eso but it does more harm than good for regular players.

I think this the main reason people want a global auction house but the game is 10+ years old now. There are hundreds of not thousands of players who already have a billion gold if not more. So it wouldn’t really fix the fundamental problems with the market.

Unfortunately this is just a problem every MMO has had when it gets this old in its lifespan not just eso.

Yeah it be nice if that 2 billion dollars they brag about was put back into the game to fix it. Seems unlikely but the new crown crates will be launching soon.

World of Warcraft was made in 2004 and doesn’t have performance issues nor does it suffer from adding new content ? Let’s just call a spade a spade.

Having a universal search won't find an item that isn't for sale.
There are at least two addons that will provide pricing estimates.

If the guild trader system was easier to use there would be more people buying and selling, likely leading to a greater variety of items for sale.

I'm in a social guild which usually has a trader and almost every time the store is mentioned in guild chat someone asks how it works. Sometimes it's new players, other times it's someone who has been playing for years and never figured it out. Often they've looked at guild traders occasionally but either didn't know their inventory appears empty until you manually search for something and just assumed it was empty, or whatever they searched for wasn't on that trader at that time and after a few attempts they gave up using them because if you can't find what you want when you want it they're useless.

At the moment using traders, even as a buyer, is a big time commitment and it puts a lot of people off, which then reduces the pool of both buyers and sellers to those willing to commit to it, and then they're usually under pressure to only sell fast moving and valuable items in order to meet the requirements for fees and minimum sales.

You're only talking about the interface there. Awesome Guild Store fixes most problems, once you understand the filters.

ESO wasn't developed by blizzard nor does it run on the same engine.

Not disagreeing with the overall point but unless zos decides to address it, then it won't happen.

Based on the way things are going the plan to address buy/sell issues is to not mess with it but instead focus on trying to make farming something that every player does instead of using gold to purchase items.

I'm not sure that's going to fly.... Those of us who harvest nodes the entire time we're playing any character are probably not a majority.... And while that's what I do, I do NOT belong to guilds other than BMU, and I do NOT EVER sell anything.

We all know they won’t though that’s the thing. The game is literally struggling to hold itself up at this point and everybody knows it. It runs worse and worse with every update and people keep pretending it’s going to be fine and the problem is that it will until it doesn’t. I just see people ignoring it like it’s not an issue because they love eso. I do to but let’s quit acting like the game doesn’t have glaring issues that is going to crumble sooner or later. The game can’t handle anything new and they refuse to drop support for hardware that’s older than their game. This is a problem in itself. But I guess we cross that bridge when we get there. Until then enjoy mediocre recycled chapters every year.

They can’t add anything else it break the game entirely.
