This is how active the group finder is on PC EU at this time...

Dungeons

It was 9:20 PM here in Belgium when I took the screenshots (the same time for France, the Netherlands, and Germany) and 8:20 PM for the UK.

The situation was slightly better an hour ago (with three trial groups, one arena group, and two dungeon groups).

And I can already anticipate those who will say it's better during the weekend... Honestly, it’s not really any better from what I've seen.

Is it just me, or is the situation deteriorating very quickly?

I tried to do this a few days ago (not this evening).

I created a group for vMOL as a healer (a few DPS joined, but there wasn’t a single tank or second healer). Everyone left after 20-25 minutes.

I also made a group for vDSA, but encountered the same problem (no tank).

It’s even harder when you try to do very specific content, like a hard mode DLC dungeon or a no-death run. It takes ages to find a complete group of teammates. :(

Same as on PS EU, the population overall shrinking. Activityfinders taking longer and longer, queues are longer, less activity in zones.

Bring cross play betwen the servers! Merge consoles with consoles and pc with each other.

Also, the group you can see on my screen (for vMOL) has been pending for literally more than an hour.

I first joined as a DPS, but left when I saw that no healer or tank was joining. We’ve never had more than five people in this group, lol.

People might be burnt out from the event and catching their breath for the next one, I know I am.

Besides the next patch is lining up to be a bad one for prog groups, so there is a general feeling of despondence in certain sectors of the player base.

Not really healthy for an mmo when you cant find 11 others for an group activity in prime time, without have to join an extra guild for it wich probably doesnt let you play how you like.

Well, according to Steam stats, game is at its peak around 8PM.

It's sad because vMOL is the very last trial I haven't done (despite the fact that I perfectly know mechs). It's been weeks, if not months, that I've been trying to pass it but the very few moments I find an active group, it always breaks on Twins... :'(

The problem for me is that leading a trial group is really unnerving.
I did organize 7 groups so far all in dreadsail and yes, i'm aware it's one of the more mechanics intensive trials but dear god it was exausting every time.

At least 3 members in every group don't know the mechanics even tought in the description and title were requested and every group more or less has 3 quitters who will istntly leave at the first wipe.

I'm sure for easier trials this is better but i rater run with my guild.
Still i have to admit pug runs are more... interesting.

For dungeons i use the dungeon finder and once i've completed all the weapons collection in the arena i don't run it anymore.

A lot of that is because the twins either bug out or no one follows the mechanics.

Yup it's a pain to lead, I agree with that.

The worst part is when people start leaving after a few wipes, and you have to stem the hemorrhage and quickly find new players. When it's DDs, it's manageable. But when it's healers or, even worse, tanks... then your group dies 90% of the time.

Groups for desired content fill really fast on PC NA... it's possible you just didn't look at the right time because of how fast they delist.

I mean we ran a vka at like 2am EST this morning and it filled in about 10 minutes, so unless you looked at exactly the right moment it wouldn't be there. There were other runs posted at the same time but I watched some of them delist in real time.

To be honest, I don’t think that’s the issue. I keep refreshing quite often (like every 30 seconds) for 10-15 minutes while watching something on my second screen. As mentioned above, the vMOL group on my screen has been pending for more than an hour with only 5 DPS in it.

personally, i dont know if i would ever join a pug vet trial, i see normal trials and have joined normal trials listed fairly commonly though

dungeons i think are hard to do group finder lists for cause i think most people just use the queue to get into those

vet arenas are probably also tricky too as those can take a long time (and theres only 2 arenas)

PC EU: Most groups fill in seconds. Atleast for normal trials and IA, in my experience.

Surprised me the first time I was trying to find a trial for the endeavour. But these fill up quick, like often within seconds.
When trying to find an IA run, these fill very very quickly too. So quick that I make my own listings now, and this fills up within 30 seconds usually.

Make your own group, don't stare at the empty groupfinder screen. When you keep refreshing, you will see groups pop up and fill up. When you make your own group, you will realize they really do fill up quickly.

Edit: There does seem to be a bug with ghostgroups in the groupfinder. Can't join them, and they stay on there for days or longer.

I did. See my previous reply about it. It doesn't fix the problem at all.

I'm sorry, but there seems to be a huge difference between normal and veteran trials then. I have no interest in doing normal ones, as I’ve completed them many times. I’m focused on veteran ones to earn achievements and skins. I can see that many ppl are farming nHOF for lead, so I guess it explains how fast these very specific groups are full.

I can’t agree with you at all when you say groups fill in a few seconds. The poor leader with his vMOL group on my screen has been waiting for an hour. The result? Just 5 DPS. He even tried to leave and re-queue a few times.

Maybe it’s a bug, but there’s absolutely no evidence of it.

I've been doing veteran trials for years now. First in Craglorn, then through the group finder. No matter whether I was the leader or just a member, I've never seen a group fill in seconds, and I've probably made 200+ pug vet trials. Some roles (like healer or tank) are definitely more difficult to find, which makes it hard to trust that they fill quickly. It might also depend on whether the trial, dungeon, or arena you're trying to do has just been released.

I'm assuming you reply to my quote about making grouplistings, but I do not speak french that well(or at all haha).

And yeah, I'm sure veteran trials will take much longer to fill. As the portion of the playerbase running those is probably very very small. Most players only want to do hard content with guildies/friends. Maybe finding a veteran trial guild would solve your problem.

As someone who occasionally start-up groups (PC - NA) ZOS does not give us group creators enough administration abilities to scan people's trial achievements and see what gear the players are currently using. I'm tired of doing normal trials because it's boring to me. I want to do veteran trials. Almost 80% of the time when I join or create veteran trials... My group disbands without the completion of the trial because people don't know the mechanics.. perfect example is in Veteran Dreadsail Reef... the first (twin bosses) people seem to struggle quite a bit on it...

ZOS makes normal trials way too easy to the point where most of the time you're skipping on the mechanics and doing just burn on adds/bosses, and thus... you're not learning anything once you start doing veteran.

dreadsail is one of the hardest trials to do in a pug, especially the first boss due to the amount of coordination

ive even been in guild groups that occasionally struggle on that boss because we get rusty on the mechs after not doing it for awhile with how much is going on in that fight

all it takes is 1 person to miss an interrupt on the teleport phases to wipe the group for example, or burn too fast and still have an atro up on teleport phase

its a very punishing first boss in a trial

i would agree about the mechanics between normal and vet, especially for a trial like dreadsail, for just the first boss in normal you can both have a single tank just stack the bosses, and the channel mechanic is healable as it does about 10% of the dmg on normal compared to vet (ticks of about 3500 compared to 35k)

its nice that normal is accessible so people can get gear, but its not really a learning run because the mechanics are usually significantly toned down to the point of being ignorable
