Inventory Bug. When using the "I" key for inventory it disables all other keys on my keyboad

I haven't played for a while because whenever I access my inventory using the "I" key it locks all the keys on my keyboard so only the "I" key and movement keys "W" "A" "S" "D" are the only key that registers. Can't quit the game because the "Esc" doesn't register. Also, the perimeter of the screen is out of focus. Only way out of the game is Control-Alt-Delete Taskmaster to shut ESO down. I remapped the inventory to the "Y" Key with the same result also tired mapping it to the number pad "5" key also with the same result. Thus, it is not my keyboard but a bug in ESO. My System is a Reddaron K556 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard .... A ASUS LGA 1200 11th Gen Z590 Gaming Motherboard with 64 GB motherboard memory. .... CPU is 11th Gen Intel i5 4.1 GHz. .... and NVIDIA GeForce TRZ 3050 TI Graphic Card with 8 GB memory. ... ESO is stored and played from a 4 TB SSD card. ... Outputted to at 27-inch curved Samsung monitor. I hope there is a fix so I can play again. I'm 78 years young, disabled, and have according to Steam 10,536.5 hours logged in ESO. Would love to play again. Thankyou. Harby46 harby@colusanet.com

its most likely not your system, but since your on PC i would probably check without addons, as ive never had that issue and it could be some addon silently causing an error which then is disabling some other keys

i have had some issues with menus occasionally like the guild store one when i switch guilds too fast then it will break it so i cant post anything and need to do a reloadui to fix it

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

Here is a bit more on the Character's Inventory access but. Both on my system and the issue. Hope it helps.

    Gentlemen,

I'm Harby46 and usually play Sir Roar-A-Lot in ESO. I'm currently 78 years old, disabled, and been playing ESO since May22, 2017 and have logged 10,537.4 hours according to Steam. I used to have a large Guild of which I was Guild master, the Aetheriuym-Oblivion Alliance, many years ago. but that slowly dissolved away over the years as member lost interest in ESO and moved on to other games. Though I'm still here if only we can fix my problem with ESO.

    THE PROBLEM:
I haven't played for a while because whenever I access my character's inventory using the "I" key it prevents all the other keys on my keyboard from registering so only the "I" key and movement keys "W" "A" "S" "D" are the only key that registers or work. I can play for as long as I like as long as I don't access my inventory via the "I" Key. Everything is normal up until that point. Once I access my character's inventory via the "I" Key nothing works except the movement keys and the "I" key. I can't quit the game because the "Esc" key doesn't register. The only way to exit ESO is to Control-Alt-Delete to the Taskmaster and shut ESO down from there. Also, once the "I" key is pressed to access the inventory the perimeter of the screen is out of focus kind of in a fog except for the center. I remapped the inventory to the "Y" Key thinking the problem was with my keyboard's "I" key. The "Y" key produced the same result, also tired mapping it to the number pad "5" key also with the same result. Thus, not matter what key I map access to my Character's Inventory will result in the same problem

Therefore, because of the result of mapping the access to the character's inventory to different keys resulting in the same problem, I concluded it is not my keyboard but a bug with ESO. It should be noted that I had ESO's file checked and validated.

    THE SYSTEM as follows:

A Reddaron K556 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard.

An ASUS LGA 1200 11th Generation Z590 Gaming Motherboard with 64 GB motherboard memory.

A 11th Generation Intel i5 4.1 GHz CPU liquid cooled via a Master Liquid ML240L RGB and a large 2 fan driven radiator.

NVIDIA GeForce TRZ 3050 TI Graphic Card with 8 GB memory.

All outputted to an 27inch widescreen Samsung Curved Monitor

ESO is stored and played from "E" drive an 800 GB SSD card, along with Elder Scroll V Skyrim, and Black Desert Online. The only games on that drive.

My 1 TB "C" SSD drive in only for windows to operating it. I'm running Windows 11 Home version

MY "D" 2 TB SSD is only for Train Sims, Sailing Sim, and Flight Sim.

Finally, my 4TB "H" SSD for Data storage.

I also have 2 each external 4 TB, one SSD and one HDD and one 2 TB SSD for backup.

I have no problems with any other program, game, or simulation except ESO which is my only problem. I would love to play ESO again. But how long can you play without accessing your Caracter's inventory? Thank you for addressing this problem. Just a note, I have discord and if it would help, I could live feed via Discord, and you can watch what happens.

probably way too much unnecessary information lol

my suggestion again, would be to check addons, make sure they are up to date, and/or try to disable them in case one of them is causing the issue

your system specs and personal info dont have anything to do with the issue

Disabled all the addons, and the addons library. Same results. Just took a little longer to manifest. Still unable to play ESO with this bug messing it up.

The other day I was in Gratwood running WB endeavors, my movement and interaction keys stop working. I had to do a spot port to another zone to get them working again and yes I did a /reloadui.

Please, remove your real name and your email as that is not necessary on a forum and opens up for getting targetted by web crawlers (bots) that scan sites for personal information. Even with log in to post on this forum you can never be sure that your personal information will not be abused.

As already have been suggested: Disable all add on if you are using add on and look at Controls (use Escape in game and you will see that option) for your key bindings. Copy manually all setting that you can see from Controls in game there so you can re-create same setting for key binding. After you have done that use reset to default key in Conrols for your key bindings and test now if everything work as it should.

Use the manual copy (on a word document or any other source) to get back those key bindings you had set before and see how that work. Try to test for some time before activating add on one by one and test a couple min. before you add more add on.

Also make sure that apps that where part of your key board have been updated to last version and drivers are updated for both USB and keyboard. If you have used any apps for changing keybindings then make sure that those profiles (stored keybindings) isn't causing issues.

I have had Logitech MMO mouse that sometimes started to mess up keybindings, so it is possible that happens when profiles get corrupted or something happens that is part of hardware/software and the only solution is to re-build profile (create a new profile and save keybindings) or even replace hardware as it can be a firmware issue (mouse or keyboard).
