Lots of locked threads here

I don't personally care to get in the middle of the current debate. Still, I find it concerning that if people express opinions that aren't trending or politically correct, they get censored. It's in poor taste, and I haven't seen anyone be offensive so far to warrant a locked thread.

Yup, got three posts deleted here, and two others on Steam forum aswell.

Was not rude nor offensive. Just shared how outraged I was regarding certain things, like the fact we paid the same price for all the previous chapters, but that some content (companions) was ripped off from Gold Road to be put on sale in crown store.

They even locked their annoucement thread on Steam. What a joke.

I won't renew my yearly subscribtion for sure.

    Yup.

I'm just happy I could mention anything PvP related in the twitch stream today and not get deleted/put in time out.

They have been really aggressive lately on banning people who mention PvP or ask questions about cyro in particular.
Will the real LadyGP please stand up.

These may be helpful to understanding why some comments are closed. BTW, if you have a question about why a particular comment was removed, your safe bet is to contact a moderator through DM. Disciplinary action is also not technically allowed. Although I think this may help clear up confusion to see the links to the COC.

When something like a new update announcement is made, a lot of players want to post a comment but either can't be bothered to add it to an existing thread or else feel that their comment is so important that it deserves its own thread, and so either way they start a new thread. The result is the front page becomes cluttered with multiple threads on the same subject, most of them poorly supported, so the Mods tidy things up by favouring an established thread and locking the others with a link provided to the one kept open for a more focussed discussion on the topic. It seems a sensible way of managing a forum to me.

Except - this isn't why they are being locked. ;)

This is a good list, and I can understand removing/sniping some comments that fall within these guidelines. However, the trend I'm calling out here is locking down an entire thread because of an unpopular opinion, which I never perceived as an attack.

EDIT: Some of the threads referred to have been locked for being considered non-constructive, although they also fit the usual reason I gave.

Some of the threads get locked because the thread's author gets a bit annoyed at receiving contrasting opinions, and then gets the mods to lock the thread.

From what I saw some of it was definitely attacks. Others were attempts at real world political discussions. Even if people are more or less civil about those, those types of threads are generally shut down especially if it's a hot button issue. This is why I linked those ones in particular. If you click the link, you can see other rules it may have violated. Tandor pointed out spam. And as always, if there's something specific you're thinking, it's best to ask a mod. We can't really go into specifics on here.

    Greetings,

We've locked this thread to prevent due to its non-constructive nature discussing previous moderator actions. While we completely understand everyone has their own opinions, thoughts, feelings and even frustrations, we want the forums to be a civil and constructive platform for the game and it's community as a whole.

    Thank you for your understanding.
