Others have pointed out that not all crate items must fit the theme perfectly, and we’ve had plenty of outliers in other crates.

But if we want to be pedantic, that mount (and a matching skin and furnishing) are Dibella-themed. The chapel of Dibella is in Anvil, which itself is quite important to the Dark Brotherhood.

Guessing you have never experienced the White-Gold Imperial Courser then? The first Barbie horse in this game, first hitting the Crown Store back in 2018. You summon it and this xylophone type sound plays and it emits sparkles, leaving behind glowing golden hoof prints.

Well tbf the Senche Raht is in a totally different league when it comes to overly done Barbie type mounts

I think ESO is trying its best to make “new” feeling mounts but they don’t have any real ideas.

If they themed crown crate seasons around the Update it corresponded to, this lack of creativity would never happen.

So instead of Dark Brotherhood crown crates with Barbies in them….. we would get Battleground crown crates with cosmetics based around the three BGs Teams, along with a radiant apex mount based on each team.

Easy to make good Crown Crates if you stick to Elder Scrolls content instead of Barbies.

Sheo and Dibella both have room for more colorful items. The mount is less over the top than some other stuff in this game, imo. The mount looks like something a Dibella follower would do.

I don't think the druidic furniture looks barbielike at all. I think it's naturalistic in a much more downplayed way. I love the sort of english garden and art nouveau style of summerset too, but this mount and the earlier my little pony like things are tacky and tasteless to me. I mean, to each their own, this is an mmo. An mmo that I sometimes wish wasn't elder scrolls because then I'd never have started it, and since the crown store started with the cowboy hats and the st. Patricks day hats which have no place in the elder scrolls world, it has just gotten worse.
It's such a shame because the non crown store aestethics are mostly really good (although I don't personally love all styles, I still think they fit well into the world).
I just think many things in the crown store are way over the top, including the noisy overly sparkly mounts that are mostly radiant rewards - no matter if their theme are barbie or techno emo murder stuff.

Sometimes I just wish I could play the game without those disturbances and disable all the lore unfriendly stuff.

Yep, been around since beta, didn't like that one much either, especially all the effects, and you are right, it does resemble a barbie aesthetic. Too overdone frou frou. But I don't think it's nearly as over the top as this flower kitty. I hope this one doesn't summon a whole pack of minstrels to run behind and make sound effects to top it off (but if it does it should be singing the brave-sir-robin song from holy grail please).

I think describing the new senche-raht as barbie-like isn't great of a descriptor. Something like the whitegold courser is definitely barbie-like, but decently fitting of the setting, whereas the senche-raht is simply too gaudy IMO. Hard to tell from the showcase image and not seeing it exactly in game, but yeah.

The whitegold courser is a substantially less gaudy mount than what the senche-raht will probably end up being. Its sound effects are very soft and the sparkling effects are very subtle. No summoning animation either, which the senche-raht will probably have being a radiant apex.

This, to me, is the right way to do a barbie-like mount:

I don't really think there's anything wrong with a flower-based senche-raht and I do kinda agree that it's not necessarily lore unfriendly for reasons people have mentioned here, but I think its design could've been way better.

I think that with the Dibella-themed items they probably had something Baroque/Rococo/... in mind. Or maybe even the mythology paintings of Classicism, or Arcadian pastorales. Beautiful, natural in an "ideal" way, idyllic, graceful, classical. You probably know the paintings with lots of flower-adorned half-nakes ladies, often mythological figures, in bright sunny landscapes, sometimes with ancient Greek ruins somewhere in the background, often playing the lyre or other instruments... Works by Fragonard, Lancret, or even, more recent, Henrietta Rae (like "Psyche before the Throne of Venus" which I can't link here because "nudity = evil"). These fit the "flowers, beauty, harmony, grace" theme of Dibella quite well. The main problem is that, well, while the idea might be good, the execution in-game is lacking... It's just not subtle.

The Woebringer skin looks so terrible LOL. The only thing that is sorta worth anything is the Minotaur polymorph... but even that is... meh!

That's the most out of place thing I can remember from ESO, no other glowing gummy bear like mounts doesn't even gets close to that. That's probably what some modern audiences asking for though so tough luck to us seeing it in Tamriel.

It's not a big deal if you don't take ESO's lore seriously, it actually solved a lot of my issues with the game's writing and crown store things available. Still prefer classic Elder Scrolls stuff myself, meaning Morrowind - Oblivion era's visually and lore wise without all the modern world connections leaking in.

I dunno, does it really look like a "Barbie" something? Last time I had anything to do with Barbies was when my daughter was small (so.... 50+ years ago now) when I spent some time one fall making clothes for hers for her Christmas present....

It's supposedly Dibella-themed. I think white with gold and flowers would be fine for that (even if it's not my personal taste at all), but the flashy glow and that mishmash of random gaudy colors... Dibella is the goddess of beauty and harmony. Would this be considered beautiful? Harmonic? Especially in ESO's, well, at least originally rather subtly designed world?
