Is anyone listing Open Houses on the EHT Community any more?

I have several houses listed and get occasional visitors that sign my guest books. But I haven't seen any since the Home Tours became active.

Is anyone still listing Open Houses on the EHT Community or should I just uninstall it now?

Yes of course. Not yet (not since Home tours) but it takes a bit of time to launch an airship. It's a better platform for me for EHT reasons.

I'll list on the home thingy when it suits my purpose.

I'm very hesitant to do the Home Tours thing. The whole thing with recommendations just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I just don't know if there is any point in keeping EHT Community if no one is going to be using it now.

Well yes, the recommendation thing seems ill advised. They give us that instead of a paragraph description of our house, like EHT already has.

Then there is the griefing potential of the Report function staring you in the face when you hit F5. Unless I misremember you have had issues with your houses in that area.

As far as it goes - I immediately saw home tours as further marginalizing EHT as soon as it was announced. Maybe to the point of killing it. Well, I do like building interactive designs here, but I also have other games to play (Starfield...kind of dull but ok) (Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts...weird and buggy but one of a kind).

And of course other things to do here. Maybe I could drop plus if I get out of housing! There's a benefit!

If you are a guild person maybe you could restrict visitors to guild only? If that even helps?

I have no problem with others touring my houses. I've listed all of them as Open Houses with the EHT Community and love seeing that others have signed my guest book.

My issue is that the Housing Tours with its recommendations makes it feel like we are being judged rather than just sharing our work.

That's a button that comes up when viewing a tours listing when you hit F5 in the house. It's like reporting someone in overland. In home tours, you can report people for offensive nickname or "inappropriate arrangement", and then give a paragraph of details.

The difference, apparently, is that it is specific to home tours. You now have to be extra careful in your "arrangements", since it's now clearly a thing. For instance, I have trap plants in what I consider amusing places. Maybe somebody isn't amused. Maybe I better pull them out*. I see an avenue for griefing.

*I have no tours listings of course, but if the housing police are going to be on the prowl ...

I was. But I was confused by "the Report function staring you in the face when you hit F5" because nothing like that happened.

I've not participated in the Home Tours, but if it's going to put a pop-up in my face when I hit F5 I'm even more unlikely to try it.

Not a pop-up - an option, like the others you get when you hit F5. That isn't what bothers me about it.

Try visiting a house in tours. No charge for that. I don't like it, but apparently a lot do.

i havent had an issue listing stuff in the home tours thing, though to date i think only 1 of my houses has gotten a recommendation, and only after it was featured in the recommended list

but that doesnt bother me though, as far as i can tell i have no way of knowing if anyone even visited or favorited my house, just the fact that there was a recommendation on one of them

i didnt like EHT, i tried using it once to see what a friend did to their house, and the addon had a serious massive memory leak that would drop my FPS to single digits after about 10-15 minutes (i know it had a memory leak because i had another addon which tracks how much lua memory i was using, and that number would just keep climbing and climbing while EHT was installed)

granted the last time i even had EHT installed was several years ago so this issue might have been fixed by now

How do you sign someone's guest book?

right now its a feature provided by an addon, so PC only

How do you sign someone's guest book?

It should pop up when you enter a house for the first time. You click it and choose to dismiss it or sign it. At least with the EHT Community. I don't think the House Tours has that feature.

No, I like having it in game and the EHT guest journal never worked for me (no idea why) so I’m glad to not have to dismiss it wherever I go.

I really like the new in-game housing listings, only wish one could a brief description as well!

I just recently came across EHT and I honestly love it ore that the house preview stuff... I have a christmas house posted on EHT that is still a work in progress but I'm having fun building it ^_^. I also used EHT on our guild hall to make our own movie theater". Lots of fun. EHT is literally the best

I am visiting and listing Open Houses on the EHT Community. I sign the book too. I am trying out the new thing too.
