I don't understand the threats of scams and spam

Good evening. As usual when I want to sell an item, I go through the chat, zone channel, and browse Tamriel to propose one or more offers with the WTS mention, the link of the item and the price. Price that I constantly check on TTC.



As you can guess from this image, the item I want to sell is "Blueprint: Colovian Trim, Wall". I'm selling it for 52k.

But here's the thing. At first I didn't understand that it was aimed at me. Then I received private messages. I'm being insulted as scam and spam by at least two players and I imagine others who didn't speak out or that I didn't have time to see the messages since I'm changing zones.

So I'm wondering. The zone channel, when you write in it, is the message only broadcast to the region I'm in when I send it? Or is it broadcast to ALL regions?

Although I'm not 100% sure, I believe that it goes to the entire zone.

It's just the zone you are in as far as I know.

EDIT: The whole zone. I was thrown by the phrasing of "region" and correlated "region" to "zone"

There are players in this game that seem to live to do what you experienced. More times than not if I see someone list an item in zone chat, one player will say spam while another will accuse the person of being a scammer or overcharging. Sometimes, its warranted, as in someone wanting 50K for a common motif, or when someone is looking to buy or sell crowns. But a lot of the time its not. Who knows why they do it.

however a lot people find any kind of "WTS" type messages spam, just as much as guild advertisements

Zone chat is just for the specific instance of the zone you're in.

So glad I have zone chat turned off. There is so little in zone chat that is worth my time.

Thank you for your messages and confirmations.

I have been exclusively using the chat for a few years now. And I have never been so attacked with invitations to report.

I am not in the habit of looking at what is being said in the chat. I sometimes have the impression that the people who write in it are rare. And since I sometimes do several rotations (maximum 2, or 3 if the area is very commercial), maybe no one had written in a good half hour?
In any case, I have the impression that the aggressive, annoyed messages have multiplied from what little I look at. I have never seen so many apart from what happened to me yesterday.
