New patch and unblockable Deadric Curse damage

Hi,
the new patch notes say that the Daedric Curse damage is unblockable. I tested that but it's behaving like a "normal" ability. If you block you only get the reduced damage. This is the case for the person with the curse aswell as the person standing next to it. Am I missing something here or are the patch notes wrong?
Daedric Curse:
  • This ability and its morphs now deal their full damage in an area around the cursed enemy, rather than dealing full damage to the cursed enemy and half damage in an area around them.
  • This damage can no longer be blocked, as this feature was never messaged on the ability and is not considered a Damage over Time, nor is its damage-based on other damaging events.

The patch notes are wrong, curse is supposed to be blockable now

Thanks for the answer. So it was unblockable before?

For any sorc that knows what they're doing, Curse was buffed. Curse's aoe damage was boosted to the full value.

The amount of times you'll come across someone reliably blocking curses is practically 0. If you know how to time your combo, you should be streaking the target before the Curse pops anyways so they won't be able to block it.

Unless you are in Cyrodiil, in which case you'll be tapping away at the Streak button for 3 seconds while watching your opponent spam heals to get back to full health while walking away slowly. :)

Ofc stun into curse is still unavoidable when hit, but the blockable aspect imo takes away a lot of ranged pressure outside of the combo itself. I actively look for it on debuff timers and block it most of the time, you can use the timer to anticipate the stun as well.

While that is true, you basically have to hug your enemy if you want to land a proced CF. In addition nobody prevents you to streak at its 2sec Mark ;D
