Murkmire is borderline unplayable now

Murkmire is simultaneously easy and absurdly tedious, making it an unbridled slog of unrewarding content that demands luck and teamwork in a zone that is constantly funneling players out of it faster than employees at a McDonalds in the bad part of town.

None of the content tests player skill. It's all just basic-level strategy and stat checks, most of which will be entirely out-of-reach for most player classes.

Both world bosses are tickle-monster damage sponges and are essentially forced group content unless you play as a Nightblade or Magsorc. I play DPS stamina Dragonknight so I just cannot pull off Walks-Like-Thunder, even with meta sets. Even with a rando helping, the boss is an absolute drag every time. Doing each 15 times for the daily job achievement is just grueling, especially considering this is an entry-level DLC zone. The content here should be easier, and I think that was the intention, but due to the mechanics of both bosses it ends up being the worst grind of any DLC zone, especially considering that it is also the most dead zone in the game. You have to snipe it at prime hours to have a hope of getting through, and the worst part is that the daily rewards here are the worst of any DLC zone in the game.

Even the easy World Boss is a slog. He constantly spawns dozens of adds when they get low, meaning you can't cheese him by leaving just a couple alive. These things aren't much of a threat and they're squishy, but they constantly get in the way of your movement and they constantly bodyblock the boss, making single-target damage horrifically unreliable through the entirety of the fight.

It's like this zone is purely meant for magsorcs and no one else. I can't fathom how a DLC this jank, this unrewarding, this cobbled together and uninspired, and this tedious slipped by and how it has been neglected for nearly a decade. There's clearly something wrong with it. I rarely ever see anyone here and it's a small zone.

It seems to be a popular zone for BRP carries to level new characters.

I regularly see at least a few other players in Murkmire whenever I go there (on PC; I don't know about the other platforms), but the zone itself can be a bit of a hassle to get around in, so it's more common to see other players in Lilmoth, Dead-Water Village, and Root-Whisper Village.

I don't think I can solo either WB, but I enjoy doing the delve dailies and Root-Whisper dailies from time to time.

Murkmire was originally intended as another "adventure zone" like Craglorn, but was quickly reworked into a regular story DLC when the devs went down the path of One Tamriel I believe. So that's likely a reason why it's a little weird. Definitely not my favorite zone and not somewhere I regularly spend a lot of time, but I did enjoy the quests there.

It's actually the only DLC zone in the entire game that I don't own, so I lose access when I'm not subbed... and I never found myself very bothered by that fact lol.

At one time, the furnishing plans were quite valuable because of the extreme lack of lootable containers in the zone; and the motifs were pretty valuable to farm too, probably because the zone and the wb's weren't very popular... so profit used to draw me back there sometimes too.

It was given away for free as a daily login reward shortly after release, but I guess you missed it. I bought it for Crowns upon release, knowing ahead of time it would be a free login reward a few weeks later.
