Jewellery crafting for everyone

- There are seven expansions but only one of them unlocks jewellery crafting. (Summerset)
- Summerset is now over six years old.
- There have been five expansions since Summerset.
- Jewellery crafting is an essential crafting ability.

While it was on special, I recently purchased the base game (with Morrowind included) only to be a bit surprised and disappointed to discover that jewellery crafting is not available to my new account. I had forgotten jewellery crafting was introduced with Summerset.

So please ZOS, consider adding a method to unlock jewellery crafting to any and all expansions.

I would be very grateful.

It is not just Jewelry crafting, any system that effects the balance of gameplay, should be available to all player, yes Scribing should be available to all players. ToT should also be available as it is a robust alternative way to farm materials.

No. There are plenty of cheap options to get every chapter and the base game. And they come up regularly throughout the year.

My first purchase was Elsweyr plus all previous chapters, for like 10€. That was a short time before Greymoor came out.

I can understand the argument, how one chapter feature has become essential to everything afterwards.
But this is ZOS' business model and that keeps ESO subscriptions optional. One just needs to make informed purchasing decisions. And do not rush anything.
If anyone here says: OH! But, PVP! I swear I'll ...

Thank you for the valuable input and respectfully recommend to discuss that aspect of ESO on the PVP forum.

ZOS has been giving away old content throughout the anniversary and whilst you can probably expect the next giveaway to be the Dark Brotherhood chapter, I wouldn't be surprised if Summerset was given away after that and before the anniversary wraps up.

More people crafting jewelry means more customers buying my platinum ounces.

So I'm all for it! <3

It is not about giving away premium chapters, we don't need handout, what I object to is adding a system that alters the entire gameplay toward it. Jewelry crafting did it and now Scribing doing it, these 2 brought massive gameplay change and I am just going to come out and say that they are pay2win feature.

We can now make a character entirely with Scribed skills and solo almost everything, the ranking points in IA and Vet Solo Arenas have doubled since Scribing came out. And that is not even the worst part, worst part will be when they discount Gold Road and nerf all the good Scribing skills.

That is why these kinds of systems need to be available to everyone so that they don't need to nerf the new fancy thing later to make the early purchasers feel special.

I get that and the same argument can be made for antiquities and the Arcanist character class. Unfortunately though that's how ZOS pushes people into either buying DLCs or subscribing to ESO+ and they've shown no indication of wanting to be better than that. So for the moment, the best that you can hope for is a handout.

I find it pretty economical to buy the most current expansion, since it includes all the previous expansions (such as Summerset). You only need to do this once to get the past expansions, but future ones will obviously need to be bought if you want them.

In my opinion Summerset and guilds should be free. Guilds as Thief and Dark Brotherhood.

I agree, and as much as I would like to see Wrothgar more populated, I think it's right for it to stay behind paywall since I bet it still sells well because of the really good content.

Summerset and Thieves + Dark Brotherhood feel like they should be base game at this point...

This year "giveaways" are nice and appreciated, and I get each expansion gives a reason to sub to ESO Plus, but still...

Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood are only 2k crowns each in the crown store. Shouldn't be too difficult to save up the gold and find a crown seller to gift them.

While I understand what you are saying, how would they sell new chapters without new juicy systems to interest players? Would you go back to a mandatory subscription?

I'd hope that they may consider eventually integrating Summerset into the base game, as they did with Morrowind. But chapters with systems... is kinda a big part of their business model. I'm not sure the alternatives would be much better. It probably would require a mandatory sub, or higher crown store and DLC prices, or a much higher base-game cost, to make up for lost revenue if chapter systems were made available for free. It's expensive to run a game like this and keep developing new things for it.

I really think they are adding Jewelcrafting to everyone.

    Summerset is really old.

They reworked JC upgrading system to be more democratic.

It's been said a new passive for a JC Hireling was in the works.

I bought Summerset back in the pre-sale. I am 100% fine with they giving JC to everyone

maybe if one of the new companions gets added to summerset and they have another reason (less compelling) to encourage players to buy dlc or pay a subscription, then maybe jewelry crafting will become available without dlc.
