I shouldn’t have a teleport cooldown when porting to my house from a wayshrine

This just annoys me. Can we get a QoL fix?

I usually got to my house to decon gear, bank and sell (I usually am at stage 4 vamp) I also like to adjust my vamp stage depending on the content I want to play.

Then port to wherever I plan to play. Sure, I know I can port to player but not solo IA. Or if no one is in the zone I want to port to.

This will not happen if I port to another wayshrine, only my house

It wont just change with this topic - try to buy houses, where a wayshrine is very close to save some gold

The mechanic is working exactly like it's supposed to.

Houses are not Wayshrines. That's why you get the Recall Animation even if you selected your house from a wayshrine. You're not taking a wayshrine to your house, you just happen to be using the wayshrine's map to select your house.

Recalls are only free to your house. Recalls anywhere else are not. And regardless whether it was a free recall or not, anytime you use a recall, the cooldown timer resets.

The trade off though is that you don't recall directly to the player. You end up at the nearest wayshrine instead. But again, it will restart the cooldown timer. In that particular situation, the cost is waived in lieu of the fact that it doesn't take you directly to the player. It's a mechanic to encourage group/guild participation in the game.

Buy the sugarbowl suite, port from your house to outside it, the wayshrine is about 25 metres away. Takes less than 10 seconds. If you have a character that hasn't done the 'room to spare' quest it'll be free, if not it's 3000 gold.
For me it's the most convenient and cheapest way to travel.

This just adds annoying load screens and additional server load.

I've often wondered what people do to leave their house if they are not in a guild. Do people really leave manually and then run to a wayshrine? I agree with the OP. This is really due for some QoL improvement.

The Rimmen inn room is actually not in a second loadscreen. If you port to outside, you can just run straight down the steps and to the wayshrine.

Another popular one is the Snow Globe since that's right outside of the Kynesgrove wayshrine, again with no loadscreens. That one is Crown-only though.

This all sort of instances has small wayshrines, you see them in delves, quest instances, public dungeons, dungeons and trials. If you travel to an player inside you end up at that shrine. Its also an backup if you die and don't have soul gems (guess that was the initial purpose)
Its very visible at maelstrom arena as it has an real wayshrine who does not work to travel from.

And I so often go to an wayshrine in cities to port to my house for some stupid reason.
Its smart to buy up the inn rooms and even some cheap houses like the one in Grathwood.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

This, now if you port outside your room you should not get an real load screen leaving an interior space like an inn or bank.
You are still in the same instance, you are just ported to outside the door. Interiors are underground so the outside don't affect it. But you might get an delay if you are still loading stuff for new zone then exiting.
M2 SSD and lots of ram help.
But its far better than first traveling to another zone and then to the target one so the Rimmen one is only relevant if destination is northern Elsweir, I own the large house in Reaper March and porting to outside it and then to Raw'l works as inside instance.

Some locations is their own instances like all thief guild locations and huge places like the the palace in Orcreach.

You realize that you don't have to go to a Wayshrine to port to any of your houses right? You can just open your map, select any of your houses, and away you go. And it doesn't cost you anything to port there regardless whether you're at a wayshrine or not..

I bought this one because it is just a short trip to the master writ turn on for my AD character as well.

We have asked for years for a wayshrine for our homes or a free port out once in. Doubtful we get either.

    Stay safe 🙂

I know so I pointed out I was stupid doing so, and its just something I do in cities there the wayshrine is less than 50 meters away.

Takes me 4 seconds to port directly to my house.

    What's the problem again?

Yes, you should. The House is Not a wayshrine. It's a location that can be accessed. You can't go to wayshrines for Free when you leave your house..
