Do you prefer the outfit or polymorph?

The Xivkiyn outfit and polymorph are both awesome. However, which would you prefer? For me it's the polymorph. Not only do you get the head of Xivkiyn, you also get an increase in height (about an inch or two taller than a max height high elf) and your proportions scale also increase (especially the torso and neck scale). I use a tormentor polymorph on my orc character who has almost all his proportions maxed out and it looks badass. I even compared the polymorph to the outfit on a nord and it looked way better. Which do you prefer?

    It depends.

Apart from the seemingly higher quality of textures for the polymorphs I would prefer the polymorph if I actually wanted to play a daedra instead of a nirn-born in daedric armor. As a nirn-born I probably would not wear daedric armor as it does not meet my esthetic expectations.

Polymorph, because of the glowing eyes and voice changer. The latter is especially interesting because it's different depending on your character's normal voice set. So for example a high elf with voice set A might have a different xivkyn voice than an identical high elf with voice set B.

It would really depend on whether I'd want to play a daedra or just some guy wearing daedric armour (so both versions are justified). I've only done the latter so far, but also not that often. And when, I usually parade this around:
    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Telvanni_Master_Wizard
Which is daedric in origin, style-wise.

I general, I usually don't use polymorphs. I'm a roleplayer and I take my characters "seriously", if that's the right term. They are who they are and don't turn into a spriggan or a zombie out of the blue (if they'd change in a way, it would have to be explained with their story somehow). I also had no interest in playing a "real" spriggan or zombie so far - because why would a spriggan quest, go to a crafting area or to the bank? Of course people can do what they want, I don't care, but as I said, I personally roleplay my characters in a way that makes sense in the world of Tamriel, and that would not make any sense to me. That said, being a daedra might make more sense in the game, but I'd also find that a bit too limiting for my personal playstyle.

I have used the Xivkiyn style on characters before and thought it looked fine.

When I picked up the polymorphs I was disappointed that they were so low-res quality.

To be fair, I like tassets and loincloths too (loincloths for the modesty, tassets where it's scrolls and stuff), but it should've been a toggle and there really are motifs and polymorphs who just do not need either yet have them... like in this situation, why are the loinCLOTHs METAL?

I would imagine, once you leaf through the pages of their narrative and examine the roots of their motivations that, as they branch out, the buds of adventuring might bring about a flowering of their skills and crown their endeavours.

it's fine if you like those specific tassets more, but they both are tassets.

The majority of tassets have the problem of floating far away from the outfit styles or clipping through them.
And most loincloths clip through robes and skirts.
This is why most people don't like either

The only two polymorphs in ESO that I use are the Xivkyn Dreadguard Polymorph for my Stam DK and the Cadaverous Assassin Polymorph for my Mag NB. I have been using both of these since their respective releases and I haven't changed those two characters' styles ever since. Lol.
As for the Xivkyn Dreadguard, I also agree for the reasons that you mentioned, with the larger and more-imposing appearance for that specific style aesthetic. However, I always leave the helmet on. Haha.

I use polymorphs to make some of my role play narratives a bit deeper by having one character function as two different beings involved in the same story.

I have a Breton Sorc where the narrative is that the Vestige is controlled by a Xivkyn soul brander (loyal to Molag Bal). The Xivkyn polymorph is only used when the character is "at home" in the Surreal Estate, but it does give some very valuable added immersion.

There's another story that is centred on a named sword. The character is a Necro. With no polymorph he is a Dark Elf who directs and supports Bastian who is carrying the sword. I enjoy playing that pairing, but it's a bit underpowered. So, for hard boss fights I ditch Bastian, switch to a Bone Man polymorph that is carrying the named sword (and which has a much more highly tuned skill set). I don't use the Bone Man poly all the time because it really doesn't work for me as any kind of conversationalist.

i dont normally pay attention to what others are using for cosmetics, but most polymorphs fully change your appearance

if you want to play as a daedra, use the maelstrom baron or xivkyn polymorphs for example

i also usually use the polymorphs to kind of match a theme for the characters as well, for example i have a sorc healer using the storm atro polymorph (lightning theme), a mag dk using the fire atro polymorph (fire theme), a mag warden using the solstheimstone incarnate (ice theme), one of my necromancers using the soul razer knight polymorph (undead theme)

other polymorphs i like using are the original skeleton polymorph (my main has been using that since near launch back when it was still considered a disguise), i use the cadaverous assassin on my templar because i wanted a skeletal argonian that actually looked like a skeletal argonian (the original skeleton polymorph always uses the humanoid skeleton regardless of race), and i like the factotum polymorph because it makes you a robot and has a unique personality/animations

recently i got the molag bal polymorph, so i used that on one of my NBs and used the weapon style "mace of molag bal" to do a full molag bal theme

i actually dont see a ton of other people using polymorphs, but i hardly pay attention to what other players are wearing and just prefer using what i think is cool/enjoy lol
