Shard Tracking

I've been playing on a couple different characters, all in the ebonheart pact. There are some shards that I've found on 1 toon that I didn't find on another. Is there a tracker in game that indicates that you have X out of 16 shards in this zone? I'm assuming it would be under the achievements but since I'm at work and can't check the game right now, I figured I'd ask. I think I got an achievement for getting all shards on the starter island.

I can confirm that you do get an achievement when you get all the sky shards in an area. I got it for the starter island last night. I'm fairly certain that if you go into the achievements you can see which ones you've already gotten in an area, but I can't check in game at the moment to be sure.

ESOMarkers addon has a built in shard tracker. You can enable the debug mode to set the shards to discovered if you already found them before instlaling the addon

First you need this one http://www.esoui.com/downloads/info2-Esohead.html
    Then this one http://www.esoui.com/downloads/info57-EsoHeadMarkers.html

Now you have all the shards on your map + an addon that will mark gathering sites and chests.
Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

If you weren't looking for an actual marker (as spoken about above), you can open your achievements tab (Journal and then right-most tab) and then the Skyshards section down the left side. Each zone has a list of shard locations. They are a little vague but give you a general idea of where to look. I find I need some familiarity with the zone before some of the hints make any sense.

Thanks for the answers. I'll have to check into that addon. I'm just having trouble deciding which character to play.
