Inspired Scholarship - how exactly does it work?

It says it pulses every 3 seconds and adds that damage to your class abilities. Crystal Weapon and Imbue Weapon power your next one or two light attacks and I thought Inspired would do the same thing but for class skills, every three seconds? I don’t notice the damage though. Granted I don’t parse or anything like that.

All I notice with it is it gives two crux instead of one when I don’t have any. It’s a slightly faster fatecarver. Oh and the buffs but I use Oakensoul so they’re redundant.

Damage-wise how does this skill work? I’m wondering if it’s worth using if I run an Oakensoul build.

When you deal damage with a class ability, if Inspired Scholarship hasn't procced in the last 3 seconds, it will deal damage. You say you haven't "noticed" the damage, but I assure you it's there and quite impactful, especially if you're running Fulminating Rune.

To further describe it, if you throw up Fulminating on something, every 3 seconds it will deal an extra proc of direct damage via Inspired Scholarship. This works with all class abilities. If you were to spam nothing but Flail while Inspired is up, every third cast of Flail would do extra damage. The extra damage is its own instance of damage, and will show up as "Inspired Scholarship" on CMX.

I did use Fulminating but replaced it with Inspiring. I may to shuffle some things around to take advantage of them both now.

It seems like a better version of burning light.
