    The last place faction should get the hammer 90% of the time. That's how the mechanic should work.

    Now if the devs had made the weapon Auriel's Bow, it would suit AD a lot better ...

    It's pretty much pointless to worry any more. Maybe the so called pvp update coming next is just complete removal of Cyrodiil and replace with a board game

    winning by 20k points every campaign without any PVPing in a PVP zone is considered PVPing???
    Server performance was soooo bad they introduced the hammer to incite zerg fights causing the game performance to get better? It didn't, who knew, live and learn.


    How many sit back stare at map, eat popcorn avoid hammer? Just me?
    How many avoid ball groups? Just me?
    Who doesn't care about points? Just me?

    Hammer should only spawn when all faction are equal, better yet, when populations are full.

    At this point might as well completely remove campaign score. If they're not gonna do anything about the off hours zerging, then the score is moot, lock it to 0 and let us PvP without the distraction of it.

    They might as well just remove Cyrodiil from the game if they're going to remove the leader board for the zone.

    The score doesn't reflect faction performance. It only reflects the 6 hours of lopsided server pop.

    Even if this thread is about the hammer there is no justification of the pop locked faction to turn the map into theirs during the low pop time frame. The campaigns have become completely irrelevant when it comes to score. The end is nearing. When a game that can assure a good competitive and interesting pvp comes many will jump the ship.

    The end is nearing. When a game that can assure a good competitive and interesting pvp comes many will jump the ship.
    Most AvA players still around just wanna feel like their faction is winning during their time zone. I've been suggesting a "real score" where you subtract 1k per day per nightcap to get a better picture of faction performance.

    Just out of curiosity; in the past year, had ANYONE in here seen the hammer spawn in a location not behind a factions gate?

    I feel like it is bugged or was shadow changed at some point, because I have not seen it spawn anywhere other than behind faction gates in the past year or two.

    Yes. Often spawns outside the gates. Generally about 2/3 of the time.

    Yes but never in a location other than those by the gates. I.e. just outside it. The ash/roe/brindle spawns I've never seen it

    The hammer spawn location does seem to be weighted. Based on the hourly score and campaign score, the faction with lower points seems to have an advantage for the spawn location. It's not a 100% bonus so it can still spawn for the faction in first place, combined with ZOS RNG math, there are no guarantees.

    its usually behind the gate, or one of like 3 spots that are just outside the gates from what ive seen

    never seen it spawn at one of the random middle of the field ones in a long long time (like between fare and alessia for example)

    i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

    For the "winning" side (I am EP) the unbalanced score results in constant double-teaming during prime hours of play for me. Constant fight not to be gated. Sometimes this is fun but mostly it's not. Not blaming anyone; if I were AD/DC I would do the same. Just to point out that the capture of the map by players out of my time zone in my off hours is not something I think is good.

    Also today saw a player flying through the air, literally, at will, in BRK during a keep defense. There's another thread about that. The player reportedly retook a scroll and flew it (with friends on the ground accompanying) back to its home keep. Player was moving too fast for me to get a name. No way to report.

    When this campaign ends I probably won't play in Cyro any more for a while. Which is my usual pattern. But if the game is so out of control that there is a DC Air Force now, then there's no hope for balance or any other kind of changes.

    Problem is also that despite officiely beeing intended to help weaker faction it is designed in a way that massively favors stronger factions with big zergs as volendrung user cant heal himself and is completely dependend on other people healing him and the defenders need to setup defensive siege simultanely at 3(inner)/multiple(outer) points as volendrung can relocate and destroy wall faster than a derender can relocate his siege. Even with a few allies I often got killed or forced to stay in keep because allies would not heal me for eternity when I am below full health for eternity and enemys have all time of the world to slowly reduce my hp to zero. Volendrung is definitely best used in a group with healers/healstacking which is more common on more populated factions. To favor outnumbered players it should rather have strong selfheal but no receive healing from others (like it also gets disabled by vampire spammable) so volendrung not gets harder to kill the more allies he has.

    Unironically the problem is faction lock.

    If there was no faction lock, the people who cared about being number one in score could just swap to that faction for the month, and the players who don't care about score but want PvP can play on the side where they are under populated for better more outnumbered fights.

    The point I was getting at, I still think people won't be happy with the way the hammer works. Whether top faction gets it all the time or it's just an AP farm for ball groups, I think it will continue to make players unhappy generally. It was originally meant to keep the map active but devs didn't take player behavior into account and more often than not it just makes pvp worse
