ive considered using kvatch gladiator on a templar setup with the jesus beam as a focus, but have also suggested it to a friend who was using sorc for awhile in cyro lol
definitely a really good execute focus set

It wouldn't be a Pet Sorc without Matriarch....

to me the matriarch alone does not make a sorc a pet sorc, having the scamp out would still be sufficient
the matriarch from my experience is terrible in cyro, but can be good team support in BGs

This build doesn't stack magicka at all. It's med & weapon damage & crits as a source of damage, all stats go to HP, and food provides stam+mag recoveries with both of them being used.
If you would go Hardened Ward, you need stack magicka hard, but also you would need to remove any pets as it will disable healing part, and "Increases your Max Health by 10% if you have a pet active. Increases your Max Magicka and Stamina by 10% if you have no pets active" passive.
If you want more healing, I'd probably suggest to go 2 bars and do crit surge, with crits this high it's like Echoing Vigor running in the background. And for more realiable healing, scribing heal is still an option.
But I just like the utility of Oaken here, with pets you are only winning 3 slots, and all 3 would be buffs that you get from Oaken, that you now need to keep up.
