I mean besides things like more furniture, etc

I havent really played since 2020 when greymoor released but I was BIG into housing at the time.

I remember wishing there were more gameplay options like gardening or higher furniture limit

In the 4 years since I took a break, has anything major been added?

it sounds like you missed out on the blackwood, high isle, and necrom chapters

the main feature introduced with blackwood was companions (functionally speaking combat pets, but they have personality and customizable) which are nice when running solo

necrom main feature introduced the arcanist class

the main feature introduced with high isle was the card game tales of tribute, which i find to be a nice relaxing side activity

non-chapter related they added the infinite archive which is kind of like a rogue-like eso experience, where you have a limited number of lives and get powerful temporary bonuses to progress as far as possible

I believe the live steam for reveal of Update 43 is coming next week. Update 43 won't release until end of summer but is rumored to have new housing features, which seems to be your interest.

I think the OP meant anything new related to housing.

I can't remember what was added when, but there's an itdm that lets us control the time of day in our housing, as well as the ability to inspect other players' housing-- and some players don't like the way that was implemented, as it apparently allows other players to copy housing setups that they worked long and hard on to get unique looks.

As for companions, we can place our companions in our housing as houseguests once we complete their quests and attain full rapport with them.

as this post was posted in housing I'll just stick to housing stuff.

furnishing limit won't be increased and gardening hasn't been talked about by zos (as far as i know), however there's been these lovely things:

- they added a Time control furnishing as the q4 event collectible in 2022, which will return to purchase from Philius Dormier soon too (q4 probably). it's called the Sacred Hourglass of Alkosh.
last year they added another time control furnishing called Chronometer of the Tribunal which is available for 3k crowns and 1100 writ vouchers.

- companions were mentioned in another comment and they do have some housing related things:
the last 4 give a letter/scroll furnishing at the end of one of their quests (third quest i think)
plus you get houseguest versions of the companions when you finish their questlines.

And each companion has a perk and some occasionally drop containers which can contain furnishing plans (Azandar's Research folios and Mirri's Treasure bags) or furnishings (Isobel's knight packs)

- 2022 added two transparent windows!

- 2021 had a notable house called Doomchar Plateau as the q4 event collectible which you can now purchase from Philius Dormier if it's the correct quarter (q4 i believe).
and this year's q4 events will also have an event ticket house! though we don't yet know what it will look like it should be previewable in update 43.

ohh and in update 40 we got Grandmaster crafting stations which we can add all the attubeable stations too so crafting houses aren't as full as they used to be.

And there's a big housing feature coming in update 43 which we will learn more about on july 3 in a preview livestream. and the update goes to pts on july 8.


i can't think of anything else that got added.
they're not really new kinds of furnishings, but since Greymoor antiquities has added 6 new antiquity crafting stations:
- Daedric Enchanting Station, from Deadlands with 3 leads.
- Druidic Provisioning Station, from High isle with 10 static leads in zone.
- Shipbuilder's Drafting Table (woodwork), from Galen with 3 leads.
- Telvanni Alchemy Station, from Telvanni Peninsula with 10 static leads in the zone.
- Apocryphal Clothier Station, from Apocrypha/infinite Archive with 5 leads.
- Ayleid Blacksmithing Station, from West Weald with 5 leads.
