Jumping should use up stamina

A 'leapfrog' player is unbearable to watch, so in the logic of an act of stamina, just as squatting consumes stamina, so jumping should be just as much a consumption of stamina.

I like jumping, it helps me keep a rhythm in combat and avoid obstacles, as it's very easy to get caught on terrain in ESO. So in the logic of jumping strengthening my leg muscles and making me more athletic, anyone who doesn't jump regularly should move 25% slower and have 25% reduced stamina.

Ok ok, in all seriousness though - *if* zos somehow decides to make this change, please do it via battle spirit because it would be really annoying in pve, where jumping doesn't give any advantage or affect anyone else at all.

These threads are always the funniest side effect of a MagSorc meta.

The jumping does help a lot of players with their attack weave rhythm.

Your logic for completely changing the balance of stamina sustain is because you're annoyed by how it looks? Good luck with that.

So why does walking while crouching need to consume stamina?

My complete guess as a player and not a designer of the game would be... because of stealth... an actual, significant advantage that it provides?

Stealth provides an advantage. Jumping doesn't, it's just used by people to keep the rhythm of the global cooldown.

When jumping, you don't get the benefit of your movement speed buffs. So it's already a bit of a nerf, in addition to not being able to change direction or roll-dodge mid nerf. Is it annoying that people are jumping in PvP, or is it giving them an unfair advantage?

Am I missing something? Jumping brings no benefits and only downsides, you can't change direction of movement during jump, you have longer CC if you are caught mid-jump, the only legit application of jump is to jump over some obstacle to gain LoS / range break.

I've never met a hopper that isn't also a rude and toxic player. Stamina cost it out of the game, maybe they'll go play something else.

    i dont care about jumping

but some players just disappear, again and again

i can shoot a projectile thats locked onto them, and ‘poof’ theyre gone and it misses

is this some kind of glitch?

    I agree. Yes it should.

Bunny hopping is the pinnacle of stupid FPS gaminess and should be punished. Preferably with prejudice.

But they aren't bending their knees to jump, they are doing it from a standing position.

    That's not a physical jump, that's magical.

    Jumping should cost magicka.

Cloaking doesn't make attacks miss after they have been fired at a visible enemy.

Jumping can actually give a lot of benefits in combat,

    Doesn't slow momentum whilst blocking,
    Lowers the effectiveness of roots
    Distance & LoS
    Better skill processing in lag
Sprint+ Direction change+Jump 'super jump' can actually increase speed / distance gains.

But I think it shouldn't have a cost associated - It's just an interesting part of gameplay.

Better skill processing in lag? That's just untrue lol. There is literally nothing to suggest that jumping would help you out when the server is choking.

The point about roots is really just tied to the first point - jumping carries your momentum. I'd wager only about 10% of players can even use it effectively like that. In regards to super jumps, even fewer players know how to do that consistently.

All of those points also have very little to do with the people that bunny hop, since all of those points require timed jumps. People that bunny hop (the people OP is strangely upset about) are only doing it for rhythm.
