Constant Opening of Website Links

After patch today every time I try and jump the game is making a sound as if I am clicking something while I jump and now is opening multiple ESO links. This link: https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/crownstore/item/4308?dwarven-crate

I have over 20 tabs of it opened right now because of this. The game is again unplayable. Havent been able to play and enjoy the game in a bit now because of one bug or another.

Using a controller by the way...xbox elite series 2 to be specific...and it seems to be isolated to that controller pressing A. Other generic controllers pressing A it is not happening...just my xbox controllers (elite and regular) that I have tested.

...so after this update...my xbox controllers are now being used on the launcher...so when i run around jumping in game and try and use abilities the controller isnt locked to just the game, its simultaneously pressing the abilities in game and on the ESO launcher despite being in exclusive full screen mode.

The link you sent me to was to an ESO article titled "WHY ISN’T MY CONTROLLER WORKING WHEN PLAYING THE ELDER SCROLLS ONLINE ON PC / MAC?" You sure you meant to send that one?

Are you currently playing ESO through Steam or Epic?

Have you tried disabling any third party overlays when using your Xbox controller?

No outside wrapper running ESO...just the typical ESO launcher. No overlays. Had to stop using my Xbox controller and use a generic for the time being. As mentioned before, the controllers all work in game no problem...the issue is that the xbox contollers also work on the ESO launcher in moving through its button list and being able to click on them. So when in the game, on fullscreen mind you, the controller is interacting with the game perfectly fine but also interacting with the ESO launcher in the background which is odd since usually you lock the controller/keyboard to a specific instance id.

As an out of the park bad example of why you lock it...say you are entering in your password in the game...you would hope all your key presses and actions would be within that game instance...not also in some background window as well.

However just tried to recreate the problem from earlier and unable to recreate it at the moment. Will test more later to see if I can find the conditions that replicate this issue.

Its happening now without my xbox controller plugged in. When alt-tabbing back and forth between the game and a browser, it is causing it so when i use my controller in game it is also using it on the launcher and thus opening up the browser.

Have you checked the keybinds?
I had my ones reset to default for no reason a week ago or so, and others I know have had it happen several times

keybinds? All my keys work in game perfectly fine...just they also work perfectly fine outside the game which is the problem. The ESO launcher is fully controllable with a controller and it allows you to navigate across the menu and buttons with the D-Pad and click on any link with the A button. So when I jump in game...it is also clicking on the launcher as well. My guess its a feature added for Steam Deck type devices.

Thats why people have been complaining of random ESO links popping up while they play...its because the menu on the right hand side of the ESO launcher with its different bubble options link to different ESO websites like the crown store or forums.

We appreciate the updates on this link issue. At this time I would recommend starting a ticket with customer support.

The Launcher stays running after launching the game?

If that is contributing to the problem, maybe running ESO directly (ESO.exe) rather than using the launcher is the answer.

At least, until a fix.
