Hi all

Health gen is halved in pvp
But is that also the case on skills regen such as bloodmist?

With bloodmist you get 45% of dmg inflicted back as health regen. Does that become thrn 22,5% in pvp?

Thx

That's not health regen. Health regen is strictly passive and listed on your stat sheet like magicka and stamina recovery. Everything else is not health regen.

Healing from damage is not halved in PvP. However, damage against players is. Players may also block, be in Corrosive Armor, or have other mitigations that make you hit them for far less than what you would an NPC with the same skill. Thus, in general, skills that heal you from damage feel less effective in PvP than they do in PvE. That said, all healing is welcome. In making a PvP build you want to pay attention to all sources of heals you can possibly get, because they add up. Healing by being aggressive, e.g. healing from damage, is useful in PvP as it is in PvP.

You can also use NPCs to your advantage. Because you hit them for full damage, you heal the same as you would in PvE. This includes skills like Puncturing Sweeps, Blood Mist and so on. Special mention goes to Swallow Soul, because it's a HOT (heal over time) that is keyed from the last target you hit with that skill. While it's usually not practical, since Swallow Soul is your spammable, If you hit an NPC with that skill, you initialise a strong (for PvP) HOT for 10 seconds while you may then attack a player with other skills. That said, any reliance on healing from NPCs is usually so very temporary, because they die so easily. Still, if you are a magplar, it sometimes affords you the opportunity to kill flag guards and deal with the player, who is also attacking you, afterwards. Just so long as you don't get negated and the player isn't too strong.
PC EU: Magblade (PvP main), DK (PvE Tank), Sorc (PvP and PvE), Magden (PvE Healer), Magplar (PvP and PvE DD), Arcanist (PvE DD)
PC NA: Magblade (PvP and PvE every role)
