Domination = Solo Deathmatch and/or Leave BG

It's jaw-dropping how bad Domination is when WoW's Arathi Basin (15v15, 4-flag Domination) is one of the greatest battlegrounds of all time. In ESO, there's only 4 players per team but there's 4 flags to capture. This means there's not enough players to attack and defend flags, so teammates scamper around the map trying to flip flags back and forth. It's a game of cat and mouse and players are constantly deserting fights, leaving their teammates to die. In Arathi Basin, this never happens because there's enough players to defend flags. If ESO had 3 teams with 12 players each, then maybe 4-flag Domination could work. Until then, players should consider playing it as a Solo Deathmatch or just leave the BG entirely.

Dropping the number of flags to 3 or even 2 would help out the flag modes so much.

the problem is there are 3 teams instead of just 2.

I think they should rework BGs for CTR and Domination to 2 teams of 6.
    Deathmatches can stay 4v4v4
3 teams fighting is always whoever shows up last, cleans up the weaker team then fights the other team. Rinse and repeat.

They won't do this, for the simple fact that they'd have to put in tons of dev time to rework the maps.

I'll say it again: just drop the number of flags down to 2 or 3 max. With 4 flags, the best strategy is to always run away from fights to the unguarded flag. There will always be an unguarded or poorly guarded flag to run to, because there are more flags than teams. If there were fewer flags than teams, teams would be forced to fight over the flags.

Depending on match type and the names I see on my own and other teams, I usually just leave. I wait out the lever time penalty and try it again.

The active PvP community is incredibly small.

If I know our team will be destroyed it’s not worth my time. Battlegrounds just aren’t fun.
