Imperial City and Sewers needs more of a reason to PVP there.

See subject line. My guildies and I have been hitting IP CP the last week or so. While fun, there really doesn't seem to be any reason to run there versus Cyrodiil other than the fun of the fight. And really no reason to go to the sewers at all other than loot or achievements. Hardly anyone down below at all to even fight if you wanted to.

There's no reason to have all six zones up top, there aren't any rewards for having all six at the same time, there should be some bonus to this. Are there any plans to add any new tweaks/rewards? It just feels like some incentives needs to be added. At least in Cyrodiil you have scrolls, campaigns, emperor and rewards for winning or having each. You can use counter-siege other gadgets to make it interesting. Allow the use of such things here.

Even on the weekends there are always less than one bar of each faction. The only reason to even be there "regularly" is just for the pure fighting of it which just doesn't seem to be enough to entice players. Add a few buildings that when your faction holds that building you get extra something or other, you could use all forms of counter-siege in the zone etc. Or similar to battlegrounds, of your faction holds this or that building or objective for let's say 10 minutes your faction gets a slight health bonus for example.

A simple start would be to make it easier to get back to home base rather than the few ways there are now. It's just clunky to have to go back to your starting point each time. It's especially confusing if you are a new player.

It's a great zone and it's a shame to let it go so unused.

They could start with 2 easy changes:

    1) Revert the flag/spawn changes and allow anyone to spawn in any district. This would allow fights to continue. As is now, you wipe a group then spend 20 minutes trying to find them again.

    2) Prevent people from starting a new queue out of IC while in combat. It's ridiculous that people can completely bypass the entire risk vs reward aspect of IC with a single button push.

this, probably the biggest things that need to happen

back when IC released, porting out during combat was not a big of a thing, because IC was a part of cyro, so you would have to queue to another cyro (which i dont remember if that was possible), and then have to get all the way back to IC which was horrible if your faction didnt control anything

they could simply prevent queuing to another campaign while your in one (like it already does for IC->IC or cyro->cyro) though it is a useful thing to get unstuck in some cases

and i absolutely 100% agree with the flags being tied to surface spawns as being one of the worst changes to happen to that zone

While I agree, it could also risk discouraging people from engaging in pvp activites in IC overall, backfiring the whole intention of being in IC in the first place.

I'd personally quit playing in IC if they made it even harder to get back to your starting point. It's not like it's super hard to get back there but it's just time consuming and nobody ganks you in the sewers anyway as nobody is there. So no real point in making it harder except to just make it harder. When I first started in IC I could not believe how much trouble it was to get back to home base, I hardly ever went there just due to that. At least with the cyro option that almost eliminates it.

Just make it so you can get back up to your zone in point in each zone and make it like it is when you zone from district to district at the side doors. You cannot attack from there nor be attacked.

this will cut down even further the number of people who go to imperial city.

The amount of Tel Var Stones you receive through PVE scales with the number of flags an alliance holds in the districts. Apart from that you get a strong buff for 10 minutes when you capture a flag.
If you get killed, you can spawn at your starting zone instead of the next flag your alliance holds and then move back to the desired district from there.

    More sewers objectives
    • Daily boss rush quest. Easy. Kill any number of stationary / wondering bosses, return to base, get tiered rewards based on how many bosses you swept up in one run.
    • Capture the Flag. Each base has a flag. Carrying an enemy flag gives a huge tel-var boost. Carrying two compounds it further. But-- only cash in on the bonus tel var if you successfully capture the flags.
Thank you for coming to my T E D talk

thats what you basically have to do now, but it means sitting through a double load screen (load screen to respawn in the sewer + load screen to go back to the surface), which for some people can be several minutes before jumping back into the action (meanwhile the action could have moved out of the district they are loading into by the time they finish the 2nd load)

it would be much better just to allow respawning at whatever district you want regardless of flag status

imagine your trying to do the quests, get killed partway finished a quest, then you have to respawn at the sewer, so you have to sit through a double load screen to get back to the quest, then happen to get ganked for whatever reason as soon as you drop down from the safe area, which means sitting through another double load screen again

basically if you die a lot you could be doing more sitting in load screens than making progress on your quest

for a pvp perspective of that, you die and have to go back to the sewer, sit through the double load screen and the fights completely moved on to a different district, so you could either sit through 2 more load screens to get to the other district (as it may not be the one next to where you were), or be forced to walk around the circle to try to get to where you were. this type of thing completely kills the momentum/mood/action of whatever is going on

Several minutes? With a cheap M2 NVMe SSD one loading screen is ~5 seconds ;)

i use that kind of drive already, and not everyone has that setup

my laptop for example does not, and has usually much longer load screens

in either case, a double load screen to get back to what you were doing is extremely annoying

Millionth post about fixing the risk reward thing.

I walk into IC with zero telvars on me. I see some poor chump fighting a boss. If I gank him (and tag the boss), I win thousands. If I die, who cares, I've lost nothing. Even more ridiculous, once I've got my easy thousands from clowning some poor chump, I immediately queue into Cyro and vanish. No risk, all reward???

What's the other end of this like? Some invisible jerk tries to gank you. You turn around and use skill to kill the ganker. What do you get for it? Nothing. Skill gets you nothing. All risk, no reward???

Ganking is inconsistent though. There aren't always targets. If you really wanna farm IC, you lock down all 6 districts with your group to max the multiplier so you can farm bosses for up to 14k a pop. You even use spies on other factions to kill any allied players who aren't part of your cartel. Split the profits later. Such wholesome and fair PvP.

As long as stealth playstyle is in its current state many people will simply refuse to visit IC.
