[Temlar skill] Radiant Destruction need nerf!

Templars do not need a nerf. They are not top tier DPS, or even good utility DPS. They are bottom tier as tanks. Even as healers, which had been their specialty, they are no longer meta as they offer no unique buffs or utility. I would be glad to have jabs back but we’re stuck with a vampiric shovel I’m not using, so I end up using weapon skills instead. Don’t nerf what little we do have to further irrelevancy. :pensive:

ZoS should be looking at buffs for underperforming classes that people don't want to play. Enough with nerfing everything. Be careful what you wish for. We'll end up with necro treatment for all.

Of course if radiant destruction was toned down and some of its power moved to other templar skills, that could be reasonable. But as others have said, templar is hardly an overperforming class in need of more nerfs.

Radiant Destruction is overpowered, and that's perfect. Every class must have those iconic, overpowered skills; because that creates idenity and impact. I would rather have a class system where some skills stand out like a needle, rather than one where all class skills are streamlined to death, just with different looks.

I would like it if my classes' Iconic skill Shadowy Disguise was OP . . Given there is a potion that turns off my 'iconic' skill in the game, I would argue I should have a potion that turns off Sorc's / Arc's ward. Or make DK Temp Warden take any damage. Or make Necro a real class worth money in 2024.

Can you imagine the backlash if there were any other class specific ' F U ' ?

Are you saying you empathize, are you saying ' Poor Nightblades, the cast feels so bad for them to fight', or are you literally just mocking me for being vocal about my classes' problems ?

This thread is about a different class, and yes some other classes have more problems than nb who can wait. If you want to talk about your class you can create your own post or find an existing one

Nightblade (next to Sorcerer) is the most busted class for PvP and it’s not even close. I‘m pretty sure his point was ironic.

Radiant Destruction should be nerfed, namely to reduce the radius of action from 28 meters, to 10-15 meters, at the moment it is too imbalanced skill. Such a strong skillet shouldn't work at such a long range.

Another one who clearly should have kept quiet. When you don't know a class or a spell you've never played, I cordially invite you to take the time to level up a class and try it out.

My Templar equipped with "Deadly Strike" and "Kvatch Gladiator" allowed me to deal damage between 8k and 22k to a player when they had less than 10% health left. And that was on the most fragile players, the ones with shields, mages who flee casting an infinite teleportation spell every 5 seconds, or archers who run faster than a horse and become invisible every 10 seconds and dodge every 5 seconds.

This Templar set, which allowed me to stay behind a group healing and finish off fleeing players, no longer works.

Thanks, crybaby. Thanks to those idiot devs.

Understand that when you optimize to be strong with your Templar in one situation, you become extremely weak in many others! This is clearly not the case for other classes that manage to combine speed, healing, protection, resistance, and damage.

    Templars don't have:

    Excessive teleportations
The ability to become invisible all the time and dodge everything
Shields that cover 100% of the health bar every 5 seconds (thanks to the diabolical update with the Arcanists)
The firepower to one-shot a player in 1 second like many archers, arcanists, and mages do
A tenth of the resistance of a warden

With my Templar, I had a role of group support, healing, and finishing off...
My character is unable to kill another player in a 1v1.

My wife, who played the same role as me, feels just as stupid as I do watching us get decimated with nothing we can do about it.

BAM, I stun you, I kill you
BAM, I jump on you, paralyze you, kill you
We can't even free ourselves from our states anymore, we can't even raise a shield or dodge hits even though we're full stamina.

In short, we keep explaining that we just want to play the way we feel like, we don't want to be forced into a certain playstyle!
We don't want to play other classes besides Templar.

We wish players would stop whining when those same players kill en masse, steamrolling others... and because we managed to get a kill with 20k damage when they had 5% health left, they come crying to the devs.

Currently, my Templar is unplayable in PVP. I've been playing it for 10 years. And I'm tired of constantly changing my gear, farming like an idiot to max out my armor, only to find out that every month there are patches with kids crying to the devs because a spell killed them.

The Templar has become the most useless and weakest character in the game for pvp.

Personally, I'm going to delete my character, uninstall the game, and end my subscription that I pay for just to get massacred.

I think their actually asking for templar to have the means to deal any sort of damage on their own at all cuz as it stands templars main method of attack does as much damage as a 0 crux fatecraver...but is melee ranged and lacks full cleave

atm all templar has is the ability to sit there and be a healin blob that dies very very slowly, which stamplar can't even do..and kill steal via beam...which stamplars can't do

For sure Templar is chicken for arcanist and other class.

i receive 20 to 50k instant damage from other class. My templar do 3k damage by hit with no control.

And you succes to cry for templar nerf. You are ridiculous.

The fact that you get 20 to 50 thousand instant damage from other classes can speak of your inexperience in playing this class and inexperience in pvp in general. To get so much damage you literally have to be naked and do nothing.

The only class I'd put unquestionably below a 'plar is Necro.

Sorc and NB are miles ahead of it.

That's mid as the cool kids say, not solidly middle place.

No. This is the only good damage skill they have. For pvp just bash or force shock and your are good to go.

I main a Templar. I decided to try a full magical Templar with warmaiden and deadly strike. Gallant chest, and seducer neck. My Templar base damage for Radiant Glory on my tool tip without scrolls or buffs sits at 17k damage. Solar barrage and major sorcery it hits 21k+ damage. I barely hurt anyone even with major and minor resolve on the target even with them at 1% but in pve that skill at 25% health is hitting for 130k+. The reason Radiant Glory is horrible in pvp is the undeath passive. It needs to be adjusted.

Templar are horrible damage wise. And defensive wise they are not good as they use to be. IMO other classes should be adjusted to be at the Templar level.

Looking at it that way they have to nerf every class down to necro and templars level, and nightblade and sorcs has far more inbalanced things thats needs to be looked at first. And the skill has so many ways to avoid it, interupt, bash, leave the range, enter a corner/go behind something, enter stealth on a nb or with potion, so if you stand inn the open and die by it the blame is on you.

I think with the nerf to undeath, we should wait and see just how strong will radiant become.
If the skill ever gets nerfed templar would have to be compensated elsewhere for the dmg loss in both pve and pvp.

That's a strong exaggeration about the unplayability of plar in pvp.

You just need to look at how many players play for plar in pvp and how many play for necro. 1 necro per 10 plars if not more. necro are slightly more common in pvp than werewolves.
If your issue is that there are now 1-2 builds for plurus in which they are playable, then that's the problem with all classes in the current meta.

The two classes I play are Necro and Templar (Woe is me lol) but I would not worry about Templar being below Necro any time soon.
Necro is receiving buffs but not really anything it didnt already have access to via other means. It gives some plus points in flexibility when making a build but Necro is so far behind in so much, most of which is not being even considered for a buff.

Templar has been neglected patch after patch left deflated from primarily U35.
I can only describe Necro as having been systematically decimated. Stalking Blastbones deletion was a farewell wave to any shred of meaningful damage output and the final nail in the coffin. I would love to have my necro back to just U40 even, which shows how dire it truly is. I'm sticking plar now and will be for the foreseeable future.

That said I would be very happy to have radiant nerfed in exchange for a better burst skill, and just an overall better general distribution of damage. Radiant as it is in PvP is massive overkill which will be more true with the undeath nerf. I wouldn't want to lose Radiant but I certainly don't need it as strong as it is, what I do need is a better backlash/potl to work with.
What I would also like is for extended ritual to remove more than 5 effects considering it's pretty normal to go to a keep fight and within the first 3 steps have 15 effects on you.
