Suddenly I can't use my ID and password to log in without Steam.

I can't use my ID and password to log into the game for some reason.
I bought a game on Steam four years ago, at the time it didn't log in. Then I started buying all the chapters and even the collector's edition on the ESO store and it's been three years since I could use the ID and password to log in and not have to use Steam.
Two days ago I had a problem after a mobo BIOS update that it wanted an authorization email from an unknown machine. But email was not received.
I was able to log in to my ESO account, so I changed my email according to the help (entered the same one again) and got an account activation, which was strange but ok. There was still no problem logging in that day with ID and Password. But all of a sudden yesterday it started saying error:

I know that Steam and Epic editions have to log in via their launchers until one buys the Collector edition via the ESO store, which includes the base game, then one can start logging into the game via ID and password. But I don't know what happened yesterday, but I just wasn't allowed to use this anymore, even though I've been using it occasionally for three years.
Is this happening to anyone else with a Steam account (Who can login via ID and pass), or is the email reset to blame?

3 years ago I buying only from ESO store and succefully using ID and Pass login without Steam
May 28 re-enabled my email and May 29 I can't use that login method what I using 3 years

I don't know that anyone here can help you with what seems to be a steam issue. Did you ask someone at steam about it?

I think that only support can help. I copied this to Steam discussion but it must be something with that damn "account activation" mail. Still waiting for respond from support and @ZOS_Kevin if he discovered something.

my understanding is that if you bought the game through steam, you had to use the steam authentication (running the game through steam) to login, it wouldnt just let you use a username/pw if you linked your steam acct to your eso acct

4 years ago I bought game through Steam.

That's true for new steam accounts but not older ones.

OP - are you sure you weren't just experiencing login difficulties due to server issues?

Tbh I don'r know, I can log in with alt account without problem. When I try my Steam account on NA server with ID and Pass, it show me window with Access Code but mail will not come.

Ok,
I tried it several time right now...
After several errors and switching from EU to NA and vice versa...
I am in with ID and Pass. I really don't undestand nothing right now.

So, what people don't seem to be understanding in this thread, is that the steam authentication can be bypassed for an account created through steam IF the steam user purchases a NEW, separate copy of the game from the ESO website. Owning both the steam and the retail version of the game on the same account allows the account to log in directly through the normal, non steam launcher (or to even bypass the launcher completely and launch the game directly from the EXE file)

OP has purchased a regular non-steam retail copy of the game, and has been able to use that copy for 3 years, ignoring steam completely. OP should not have to use steam now, at all, as the account is linked to more than one copy of the game.

This issue where verification e-mails don't show up is actually something that's been happening for quite some time when attempting to log in through the normal launcher.

OP- You may have to log in and verify through steam first, then afterwords, close ESO on steam and try logging in through your normal launcher.

Are you able to log into your account through the main website and verify that both copies of the game are still linked to your account? (Note: Your forum account is separate from your game account on the website)

ETA: Just saw you got in OP, glad to see you managed to get in. If you have any further trouble, you can also try what I suggested- works for me when my account acts up.

Yes I know that forum and eso site are different account.
Yes I can log in to ESO site.

Yes they are still linked. I see Steam and regular version.
But i think that was some login issues due to server issues. I can log now.

Btw its about 50 on 50 with logins. I am still lazy to write ID and Pass

And using ESO+ through Steam because Steam have monthly sub but from ESO Store is 30 days and really there are differences in payments.

@sarahthes I remember that wife have something similar with her account several months back. After 504641084 atempts mail come and everything start work with login.

I had this issue with my old man with an email never coming, non steam. So I logged him in on my pc instead. Mail came. Did the thing. Now I can log in on his without it....

Weird system. Just gimme an authentication app already.
