When comparing equipment - do the figures take into account the 'extra' from Set items?

Hi. I apologise beforehand for this stupid newbie question. I'm not new to ESO and I feel silly for asking. It's not been an issue until now, where I need to get rid of a ton of equipment and I want to make sure my characters are all kitted out as best they can be before I get rid of stuff.

So, on console, when comparing equipment in my inventory I need to ask about the stats in the right hand panel. Green when it's higher than the equipped item, red when it's lower. But do those numbers take into account the extra benefit of set items?

For example, suppose I have equipped an item that is part of a set item (but I only have 1 of that set equipped) and I'm comparing with a set item (and I already have 2 items of that set equipped) - do the figures take into account the 'extra' - i.e. "3 items equipped gives 703 extra Magika" type thing?

Thanks in advance for any help.

It will always compare the result of what you have equipped VS the results of what you would be wearing.
This includes set effects, as if you were to equip it.

In your example: if you already have two set items equipped, and you are comparing a third items, the comparison will include any 3 set stats as if you had it equipped.
