Incapacitating Strike rarely incapacitates

Especially in PvP. It's a rare day I see this actually stun anyone....like...almost never. Not even a break free a second after...it's like it never happened. Anyone else?

Ask yourself whether other NBs stun you with that skill. They probably do, right?

Reasons for why it might not stun:
    • Ultimate lower than 120.
    • Ultimate fails due to positional desync. You are not charged the ulti cost. You hear the Incap sound, but not the complete sound. Although you could activate Incap, it didn't actually connect with the target. This happens quite a lot with all ultimates, not least due to their 400ms cast delay.
    • Any target that has broken free in the previous 7 seconds and, therefore, has the swirly lines around their feet, is CC immune. You can't stun them again until that runs out. They can also drink a potion to briefly gain CC immunity or apply Escapist Poison to a target, which gives the caster 4.4s of CC immunity.
    • Incap can be dodge rolled. This is deliberate, e.g. this is why ZOS introduced the 400ms delay. The target may hear the Incap sound and be fast enough to dodge roll it, avoiding both the damage and the stun. If they use Miat's PvP Alerts addon, on PC, they will hear another sound fractionally earlier and the likelihood that they successfully dodge roll increases. You will be charged ultimate in that case.
    • Somewhat related: The target can automatically counter-stun you by wearing Zoal and using Slippery CP.
    • Also related: Grim Focus shares the 400ms delay that ultimates have. Thus, if you are trying to combo Incap into Grim Focus, the target has just enough time to break free from the Incap stun and dodge roll Grim Focus afterwards.
PC EU: Magblade (PvP main), DK (PvE Tank), Sorc (PvP and PvE), Magden (PvE Healer), Magplar (PvP and PvE DD), Arcanist (PvE DD)
PC NA: Magblade (PvP and PvE every role)
